    Lunch with my family

This has become our #1 go-to for Vietnamese because it's literally just a few blocks from our home, and we often find ourselves passing nearby because another favourite restaurant is right next to it! As they say: location, location, location--but that would be moot if the food wasn't good, which it assuredly is. We've been dining here now for a year, and the food has been consistent, so we keep coming back.

I've been here several times already as this place is quite close to our neighbourhood. Our servers have been pleasant, efficient, and attentive every time the boys and I have come here; the appetizers (i.e. deep fried quails, rice paper rolls, spring rolls) and most of the main dishes(i.e. phơ, vermicelli bowls(bun thit), beef short ribs on rice) have been consistently delicious and wonderfully seasoned (I love the flavours of lemongrass, nuoc cham and cilantro!). The only dish that I have been disappointed with was the thick crab noodle soup. Although the soup was piping hot and flavourful, there was hardly any crab in it(compared to the photo on the menu) and the pork slices were extremely gristly and hard to chew. I still have yet to try the oxtail noodle soup and the wrap and roll combos(for 2 people).

The worst place ever in the city, throw up afterwards, not clean, and very salty. The server does not serve you, but ask for tips

First time trying out this place since it recently opened. The decor and ambiance was lovely and I hesitate to say, but have to say (because it was so uncomfortable) that the booths near the windows are extremely squishy and I'm a petite woman of 5'4" and 110 lbs. The booth tables are literally sitting up against your ribs. I kid you not. It wouldn't help to move the booth table because both sides have the same amount (lack) of space. I think they were trying to fit as many tables/booths they could in their cozy little space. The server seemed inexperienced and slow with everything but giving them a chance since they recently opened. On a positive note, the food was delicious!!! We ordered the Special Spring Rolls to share and I ordered the Sate Chicken Noodle Soup. When they served the spring rolls, the server didn't bring out side plates so there were crumbs, flakes and fish sauce all over the table (no, we didn't eat like savages) and we had to pour the hot sauce to dip onto the leaf it was served on. We could've asked for plates but he seemed flustered. The spring rolls were crispy and flavourful. Next came our Sate Noodle soups; but no utensils... so we asked and waited patiently. My Sate Chicken Pho was incredible! Very spicy and tasty broth just the way I like it, generous portion of thinly sliced white meat chicken and a generous plate of bean sprouts, basil and lime slices. The pho was $12.50 (bit more pricy than the other good pho restaurants) and only comes in one size but well worth it because of its portion and deliciousness. I would definitely go back for the pho and to try other items on their menu but I would definitely ask to be seated at a Table and NOT A BOOTH next time.

Great food, nice restaurant inside, good option in the NW. Full Vietnamese menu, but I Love the salad rolls. Easy place for takeout.

My family went to the same pho restaurant for +10 years and one day we went and my niece said "oh…read moreno the broth is different" and we were all so sad that the taste of our fave things had changed. A few months later in Calgary Reddit I saw a tip that restaurant had links to Pho Han. We immediately came here and (cue heavenly chorus) my niece immediately gave the broth two thumbs up!! The portions are awesome, prices are great, the flavors popping and the service is amazing. We had kids spill all over the table and they were so gracious. Delivery has been perfect too.

Upon entry we were greeted by Michael ( later introduced ) his friendly and polite manner made a great impression and made us feel welcomed! Menu is extensive like most other Vietnamese restaurants, but we decide to try the basics; No. 1 House Special - broth is perfectly well balanced with herbs & spices, cuts of beef were all high in quality & quantity! Pho is cooked al dente! A perfect 10! No. 19 Hu Tieu Nam Vang - a pork based soup with shrimp, sliced pork, minced pork, quail eggs with clear noodles .. love the way they torched the sliced pork belly to give it that extra charred flavour! Its unique flavour is enhanced with a touch of sesame oil, add your fresh chilli to give it that extra kick!! I have added Pho Han on my Calgary list of top restaurants! Will be back when I am in town again!!

The restaurant was pretty spacious and not very busy on a Saturday late afternoon. The place however was a little warm inside, maybe the AC wasn't working as they had some fans on. We ordered the vermicelli dish and pad Thai as the staff told us it was their most popular dish. The pad Thai was indeed one of our favorite. It had a unique smoky flavor to it. We also ordered the pho and eggplant dish. The pho had a surprisingly rich flavor. I would definitely recommend the pho. Overall we were very pleased with our meal and left full with hardly any left overs.

Being a vegetarian, I have had a hard time getting pho that's flavorful but the chefs here have magic in their hands, they have put so much heart and effort in packing so much flavor in their broths! I had the Sate Tofu Noodle Soup, ah can't get the taste out of my head!! Such richness, the freshness of the house made tofu paired with soft rice noodles was just beyond perfection!! The Pad Thai was also delicious: it missed one thing: crushed peanuts which we usually get at Thai restaurants. The restaurant has a very calm and peaceful auto to it!!! Full of large plants and a meditation area, it's a nice getaway from the corporate hustle outside. The place closes at 8, so reach early.
