The very first time I walked into the office, all the staff just stared at me and made me feel very uncomfortable. They did not even say anything at first. I had no idea where I was supposed to go/what I was supposed to do. Some training on professionalism would be helpful there. Once they finally spoke to me, they acted like I did not have an appointment that day. I had spoken to someone on the phone and absolutely scheduled an appointment, so of course that rubbed me the wrong way. Part of me was surprised I went back after that, but I wanted to keep an open mind. So I actually went back several times, and none of them were positive experiences. I had disclosed personal health information only out of medical necessity. Before I knew it, everyone single staff member knew about it, and every single staff member would ask me and talk to me about it every single time I went in. It made me extremely uncomfortable. I did not disclose that information because I wanted to chit chat about it. Again, I disclosed it out of medical necessity. And again, some major training in professionalism, bedside manner, and common courtesy is essential. I think Johnson Chiropractic "means well" but is 100% missing the mark. There is a lot of work that needs to be done in order to make it as respectable healthcare establishment.

He was my mum's doctor, but she died of cancer. He took care of her for years. During the time of the pancreatic cancer, he was especially good at going beyond what was comfortable. He was normally not one to prescribe strong pain medications, so the hydro and oxy types were last resorts. That's probably different than 99.9 % of the doctors out there. Of course, when the cancer came, he worked with the chemotherapy doctor Qin Xiu Sheng, and they had to prescribe more potent meds. He did his best to make sure that he helped my mum and he tried to squeeze her into the schedule when things weren't working well, and there were many, many meds changes. He not only helped her, but he was kind and caring to me, also. That's something I haven't seen from many doctors ever. There were many times when she was in a hospice room that we would discuss matters and change meds again. Sure, doctors put their foot in the room and say "How are you feeling today?" and check off a visit fee, and run. He stayed, he talked, he listened. One morning, he had to wait a while as I woke my mum to talk to him. She wanted to go home. He very patiently listened to her and told her how it had to work, and she felt better, even though she had more days in the hospital bed. The doctor isn't the only one to be commended. Libby, Theresa, Elaine, and Jackie all give their best to each patient. You don't have to ask or demand. They're asking you and caring about you. The doctor has great people working for him.

She said, "Oh, we don't do that." I said, "After 5k and all the testing you have done each time, and I can't get my prescription?" "No, that's not our policy." Now spending another $85 at Walmart to get my prescription. If I have to drive 100 miles to get away from Whitewater Eye Center's monopoly in this geographical area, I will.

I left and went to my car and called just to check there are two eye doctors within two blocks of each other. They told me to come back in and they'd get me in. The receptionist, pre examiner, and doctor all apologized for the mix up over and over. I had to wait a little because the two people both had longer exams. My exam was super fast. Everyone was super nice. The optometrist was super personable and great with small talk. Prices are reasonable and comparable to other mom and pop shops.

She went to the hospital from pneumonia at the end and found out she had bedsores, hadn't been bathed or fed for 3-4 days and had terrible thrush in her mouth from teeth not being brushed for weeks as she wasn't capable of doing it herself or taking care of her ADL's. While a lot of the staff are pleasant and friendly they neglect the people there and are understaffed and the facility reeks. She is no longer here as she has moved to the springs in Richmond and is much happier. They also dis enrolled her from her medical plan and drug coverage without my approval as her POA. The name has changed from heritage house and is still going off the cms ratings of it being a high performing facility which is not true.
