Now, not to say you can't get a nice haircut here, but for those of us who went here for years, you will probably want to throw-up. I'm sad the old traditional barber shops are becoming a thing of the past.

This place is pretty solid. I have been going here for about 4 months and have enjoyed each of my…read morevisits. I have landed on John as my go to barber if anyone needs a recommendation, but everyone there seems to wield their sheers handedly. I love that I can walk in after work during the week, sit right down in the chair, enjoy some good conversation and then walk back out looking much better than I did going in and only be out $20 and about 20 minutes. The actual haircut is only $14 so tip what you like, I just enjoy the ease of handing the barber a twenty, shaking his hand and heading out. I think another reason I like this place is the longevity of it. I don't know how long it has been around, but I do know that I had my first haircut there in 1982 and then literally every single haircut there after until I moved away in 2000. It was pretty great to walk back in in 2012 and still recognize 3 or 4 of the barbers, still in there same spots. I just felt comfortable instantly. A typical cut in my experience is just what you might expect from a barber. Wet the hair down, comb it up nicely, cut with sheers, trim with trimmers and then straight edge for a crisp clean look on the neck. A quick blow dry, a check to make sure everything is good and you're done. That easy. If you live north of the river, or not, and want a great local barber to treat you right: Barbers Plus, it's that easy.

Everyone just stared and watched it all unfold. Barber just said "my bad". Found out multiple barbers here are "new". Unacceptable. Terrible haircut. Uneven. Only way to fix was to buzz it all off. Nit sure who manages this place but maybe hire professionals that listen to customer and cut hair properly. I do not recommend going here if you want a good haircut.

I finally asked another barber that had just finished a cut to help me out and fix my sons haircut so he didn't walk out with something so horrific he wouldn't want to go to school, because Tall DREW had no idea what he was doing cutting hair! At all! Dude must have gotten his barber license from eBay! Drew cut and dug into my sons skin, he had scars for 7 days after the haircut! If you want a decent haircut! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GETTING A HAIRCUT AT THE Edge, unless you know the barber, if your just a walk in, some dude that's never cut hair before is gonna squeeze you in, and mess you hair up! Do you self a favor go elsewhere! After admit he messed up the cut he still wanted to charge full price and wanted a tip? Wtf! Not what we asked for! Not even close!

I very rarely if ever give 1 star reviews…read more I was confused by the service package descriptions. However, there were two services both $50.00 and both 40-45 minutes. I wanted a hair and beard trim and cleanup for a conference. Just a clean up. No styling. Just a quick cut. I scheduled the Alpha Cut ($50.00 / 45 minutes): Described as "a precision cut for the modern man, includes razor detailing sharp edge cleanup, premium styling for a polished finish." However ... it may have also been the "Sharp Stag" ($50.00 / 40 minutes): Described as "Hair and beard contouring with traditional razor detailing for a sharp, clean, and defined look." I arrived on time and was asked to wait about five minutes. When I was finally seated, I was told that what I wanted could not be completed in 45 minutes. Instead, I needed to purchase a "Huntsman Shave" for $70.00 and that it would take about an hour. This service is described as "A stylish cut + beard, traditional razor shave. Includes hot towel, massage, premium foam, and soothing balm for smooth, irritation-free skin." ... However, I was never interested in any "styling" and I did not request a straight "razer" at all. This was a trim and nothing more. Michael said he is not responsible for my understanding or misunderstanding and he was going to charge anyway for the time. I did have the option to either agree to pay more and he would do the cut as I expected. If I did not pay more, then he could do the beard or the hair but not both ... even though at least one (if not both) of the above descriptions are for "hair and beard" for $50.00 and within 40 minutes. Michael felt he was in the right to charge me 30% for "wasting his time." Even though he was the one putting me in a "Bait and Switch" marketing situation where he could not perform the services as described (at worst) or as they were understood (at best) "and" had also wasted my time as well. My time is valuable too. In reality, we unintentionally wasted each other's time and while unfortunate, neither of us should be charging the other for that circumstance. This was all extremely confusing and frustrating for me. However, this stuff can happen. All good. What was unacceptable was the lack of accountability on behalf of the business and Michael to even entertain that the descriptions were confusing or that they may have in any way led to a misunderstanding. If I am charged, I will be disputing the charge on the grounds of an unclear description of services and service refusal. This business, after hearing my concerns and expressing their concerns, put me in a position where I was not going to get what I needed for the time and money agreed, however -- they still wanted me to either ... 1) pay the same amount for a lesser service or 2) pay more for what I expected based on the description ... or 3) pay a 30% "fine" for the time they said I wasted - even though, my time was also wasted. Had I not shown up at all and cancelled, then, I am 100% wasting their time. I am not wasting time when I show up on time and instead there is either a fair misunderstanding or a mutual mistake / misrepresentation about a scheduled service ... and when a common understanding about services that can be performed within the time/price point cannot be reached. Further, the business could not or would not deliver the service as I understood it and for what I had agreed to pay. That is fine. That is a mutual misunderstanding and can happen. It may even be a material failure on their part. It is not however a material failure on the part of the customer. Expecting a customer to pay for services that could not be performed in a way that both parties understood those services would be performed is a step too far and very poor customer service. I will not be back. Anyway, such a shame for an otherwise cool place.

They were polite about it but there own fault they wouldn't answer the phone and to charge a first time customer for your mess up is horrible business.
