I had an expertly made Negroni -- made from a fairly standard mix of Bombay Sapphire, Campari, and Martini Rosso (no regal rogue here) with rosemary droplets and garnish. The haircuts are similar to Aono's flagship stores in Brighton. These barbers are meticulous, amiable, and come from all walks of life. Their attention to detail is simply superb. Whether you're looking for a familiar cut or want to try something new but aren't sure of what direction to go in, you will be very well taken care of here. Prices will of course reflect the location, which is to say this is more expensive than Brighton (and yet still quite reasonable given the price of anything in Knightsbridge) but a cut at Aono's first London location would readily compliment a day of shopping. I probably have been quite difficult as a client because I had a special haircut and beard style in mind and showed him some photos beforehand. Ben has frequently stopped at each stage of the procedure to ask and reassure himself that that is exactly what I wanted, and in the end I have had that kind of hair and beard style that not only I have imagined but which also suited me at the same time just perfect. There was an extra barber chair when I walked in and they immediately sat me down with no wait time. I was surprised to feel so welcomed by them and no awkward feeling despite being a stranger. Even after giving only a vague idea of what I wanted, the barber immediately went to work. I can't remember his name because it wasn't one I had heard before but he ended up eventually settling in London after a long journey via the Netherlands as a war refugee from Iraq in the 90's. The haircut was quick and efficient, and they waxed my ears which was a strange experience, but overall I felt like I came to the right place. If I lived in the area I would definitely come again.

So I came here instead, having s en the signs for it for several years but never actually been before. I got lucky as one of the chairs was free - all of the others were in use at the time. So I got straight in and said what I wanted - the barber offered a suggestion part way through and she was right on the money (it looks a lot better for being cut only half a grade shorter). Super polite, fast, good and only a pound more expensive than my outer London barber. Plus - I just got my hair cut on a Wednesday, that's a novelty in itself.
