If I could give NO STARS I would, Terrible customer service! Entering the establishment we were not acknowledged once within our 30min wait. I noticed Austin working with a potential customer and not once did he acknowledge that we even walked in. After 30mins of waiting I hear noise from the shop area peaked inside and noticed an employee first name starts with a "J", legs propped up eating and watching TV. I asked the worker if he could possibly assist and he told me to be patient and Austin would get with me and if he helped me he would have to charge me. I waited an additional 10-15 mins and was only acknowledged as we walked out the door and complained about the lack of service we received. This place is a joke! Save your time, gas, and avoid an overall headache and don't patronize this place. Oh and don't bother to call, they allow the phone to just ring. read more

I used the Groupon. The guy I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and helped me make an appointment pretty quickly. I was able to get in in 2 days, and dropped my car off at 9am. I had planned on leaving the car there for the day like the Groupon and website had said. I ended up getting a call 2 hours later saying my car was ready. Great, efficient service. I got all my windows tinted plus the strip across the top of my windshield. 5% tint in the back, and 20% tint in the front 2 windows. Tint was done well and came with a warranty. I got my windows tinted at S. Lindbergh and they did a great job. I purchased some equipment at the tent sale at the Bridgeton store and got some great deals on a Rockford Amp and focal speakers. I got an excellent deal on a JL 12 W7 from the Manchester store. I installed everything myself as I always have but was having an issue. They brought my vehicle into their shop and fixed it for free. I noticed a lot of bad reviews, but I have had nothing but good experiences with them. Give them a chance to fix it. The people I have worked with are great. I would think that they would stand by their work. read more

I paid close to $1000.00 to have My 2 subs and my amplifier installed as well as a stereo that I had bought at the same time and they not only had my car for 3 whole days but they could not even install it correctly. The DVD player doesn't work and the stereo is falling out of the the dashboard and the install kit is janky. The air vents will not stay in. And for the record that was also purchased from them. Anyway I would not recommend taking your bicycle there. read more

I had a HORRIBLE experience at the Manchester location (you can find a lengthy review from me there, as well), but the Rock Road location as well as the manager, James, were absolutely wonderful and made a bad situation into a great one. I was about to return the remote start my dad bought for me the previous holiday season (this took place back in December 2020) because the Manchester location said my car was "disgusting" (it wasn't) and the manager at that store, Patrick, was as abrasive and rude as they come. James, however, was about as sweet as a sugar cube, super professional, and even offered to upgrade my remote starter for free and see if one of his technicians would be willing to stay late the next day and install the new starter for me (which he did). He even took the extra time and walked me through how to use the key fob and everything. I will ABSOLUTELY be back at the Rock Road location for any and all upgrades my husband and I will be getting on our cars. Thanks again, James! read more

All Custom Sounds are not created equal... I realize I have a complex vehicle due to the shaved door handles, but whoo. I dropped my vehicle off at the Bridgeton location and they literally looked at my car for 7 full days and didn't touch it. This is after I made multiple trips to work out the details and cost for an alarm that can pop my doors and get a 15" sub, amp, radio, whole...I bought everything from them (S. County). Who wants to go by ANYwhere multiple times for broken promises. So, I took it to S. County and BOI! They had it done in less than 5 days...but I had multiple problems that I didn't have when I dropped my vehicle off. Seriously? I repeat, I know I have a complex vehicle, but when I picked up my vehicle, only 1 door pops (2 popped when I dropped it off), manual release doesn't work anymore, newly installed radio has a crack in the face/screen and TOTALLY died in 2 days time (no BULLSHIT, I can't make this shit up), and the sub box was not what I asked for, it was supposed to be flush with spare ramp, but instead, it covered 75% of my trunk...WTH. Uhh...groceries and other things need space. So, I had to wait a full week...brought it back...passenger door still doesn't pop, but they state the actuator needs to be replaced, which they don't do and all other things are fixed. No additional cost...cuzz I wasn't paying that anyway after $2600 was spent on this endeavor. read more

Communication is terrible. The won't allow you in the store outside of initial drop off. Only got tinting done to my car and the left a piece of the trim panel off. Contacted the numerous time and they act like the had no clue of if it was there or if they needed to remove it cause a contractor does the work. Use at your cars risk. read more

Recently (Dec 2019) we were away from home and the radio locked up and we were counting on using it for our Navigation back home across the US. I had a remote start put in two weeks ago and now it won't start car and the ignition does not work either. 3 calls and no one answers the phone and they will not return phone calls. Small claims court is a beautiful thing. Let's see if they call me back when they get that subpoena. Never ever use these guys. We now have a dead car. Update: These guys wired a hot wire to my main board on my car and it blew out the board. Cost me $1200.00 to repair. Custom Sound diagnosed the problem as a dead starter and said they checked and the starter was getting power. Wrong. No power was coming from the main board and the car was dead. These guys are crooks. They looked at the car and said they would get back to me about removing the autostart and unlock option but I have not heard anything back from them in 2 months since I had to spend $1200.00 to fix their mistake. Since 2008 I've taken two cars to the Bridgeton Custom Sounds to have window tint done. My first car, a 1998 Olds Cutlass sedan I had tinted here with their non-metallic tint (35% front, 5% back) and the experience was decent. I called to set up an appointment for about a week later. On appointment day, I dropped the car off, and it took them about three to four hours to get my tint done. The job was pretty good, and I've had the car for almost four years. No fading, peeling, bubbling or anything. They do a good job, and get the tint pretty close to the top edge of your window. They advertise on their site that they use Formula One brand film, but my invoice said Llumar..either way it's held up. Apparently their lowest line, non-metallic tint is Llumar brand, and their more expensives lines are Formula One brand. Both I've heard are good quality. This first experience was so good, I decided to take my lady friend's 1999 Grand Prix to Custom Sounds so the same job could be done on her's last year. All I can say is the job ended up being great, but the service was mediocre. Long story short, I set up an appointment, "while their system was down," or so the rep. claimed....got there when the appointment was supposed to be and they had no record of my appointment. They had an opening the next day, so we took it. Things seemed fine until it was about 4 hours after we dropped the car off, and I called to check on the job. The guy said he tried calling me, but it kept going to voicemail. Ok, why not leave a message? We stop back up there a few minutes later, and apparently they'd just gotten to her car. He informs me that extra work needed to be done because her car previously had tint on it, and there was still residue left on the bare windows. Two hours later, the job was done. They'd also claimed that the extra work would require $50 more charge, but somehow that was never applied to the final total (human/communication error). All-in-all, these kind of car services can lend you and your car to get f'd over, but in the end their work and their product holds up. All things considered, I'd recommend again. I went in and talked to them about alarm/remote starter combos and they took the time to go over each system they offer and what it provides. After obtaining this knowledge i obtained my devices from a 3rd party and brought it to them for installation. I called to get a quote and set an appointment. They were very accommodating and completed the installation in one day; dropped the car off at 10 am and it was done by 6 pm. The price was very competitive and the staff was friendly. My experience with both locations was so mind blowing I don't have the time or patience to type it all out. I am begging anyone considering this so-called business to run for the hills as fast as you can. If I could give a negative 10 stars I would. Went there Oct 27 to get front left speaker wiring working ..no sound.. .since they installed a stereo two weeks ago.. I left my vehicle there all day.. come back with no call by them around closing thinking it's fixed.....My car is in gargage near closing time.. first guy tells me my speaker is blown and that's that... I told him they are new speakers.. then they look closer..all they would have to do is rewire to front door wiring.they said I broke my wiring pulling on it ..then they said that the cars factory wiring get old and they aren't responsible.. . They couldn't just fix it and make it right while they had the door panel off and stereo out of dash.... manager says it will be $65.00 and can't do it tonight.( For a five minute job running a piece of wiring from stereo to door speaker.). just feel like they didn't honor their service..and we're real smug telling me my cars actual wiring was bad..they couldn't go the extra mile and just make it right in five minutes.. bad business model..don't go here for a stereo..they don't take care of customers after the sale....they were in a hurry to close the shop for the night. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Sat for 2 hours waiting for window tinting on my car and to have my radio looked at. After 2 hours they tell me that my car was too difficult for the installer to do. I made an appointment and they were fully aware of the car type I had. Did not even look at the radio. I drove an hour and took off work. These people have no clue how to run and maintain a business. Do yourself a favor and stay away. I took my 2001 4Runner in due to backup camera issue. They told me the camera was bad, which when I took it elsewhere, it turns out it was only a bad cable (who knew the cables could go bad?). The real problem is that with this generation 4Runner, the back window cannot be rolled down when the interior panel is out. I know because I had damaged tint when the camera was first installed - the installer paid to fix it though. In this case, AJ tells me his tech says the scratch was there when I brought it in? Really? Like I wouldn't notice a 6" scratch? If you must take it here, take pictures of your tint because they may scratch it and give you a BS story later rather than fix their mistake. read more

If I could give this shop a negative star rating I would. By far the WORST customer service at any shop I've ever visited. I called a couple hours ahead to ask if they could fit me in for a simple head unit install. They told me that they could do it the same day, and had all of the parts needed in stock to complete the job. I dropped the truck off at 2pm and was told by them, that it would be completed between 5 and 6pm. I came back to pick it up at 6:30 that evening and noticed it was in the exact spot I left it. Sure enough, they didn't install it. When I walked in it looked like a party. Everyone employee didn't seem to care that there were customers in there, all jokes, cursing, etc. They didn't call to tell me why, or what parts they were missing (when I was told TWICE) that they had everything and it wouldn't be a problem to install. Needless to say, I'm never going back. I recorded the whole conversation when I came to pick it up and I hope I can be reimbursed for my 5 hours lost. Hopefully you guys don't waste time and money like I did going here. read more

However, when I came in for my appointment time the man who helped me told me a different price than what the man did who I spoke with prior to purchasing the Groupon. I bought a remote start from these guys and they did a great job! AJ who handles all the calls, set-ups, etc is amazing! Their install crew did a great job as well. I left my car overnight due to my busy schedule and they accommodated that as well. When it got finished, the horn wasn't working on my faun and so they had me come back out, fixed and gave me a second gain for free. They even had it done in less than an hour so I didn't have to wait. I was very impressed by their customer service and how great they were! We will be back for sure! read more

Amateur at best. I had them install a pair of subwoofers and an amplifier in my truck. I provided the equipment as what they typically have on hand is mid range at best. Whomever installed the amp did exactly contrary to what was discussed when I dropped off the truck. He removed sound dampening and drilled directly into the back of my cab. The correct way to do this would be to mount a permanent amp board so you can change equipment without leaving holes in your sheet metal. Also, the person tuning the system has no clue what they are doing. Setting the gain is a pretty straight forward process involving a multimeter and a test tone. They neglected to do this and "earballed" it. The result was basically zero response below about 40hz. About 20 minutes of tuning on my own left it 400% better sounding and 200% louder. It is still not where it should be, as I'm sure the line output converter is set up incorrectly as well, but I will need to remove the back seat to correct this. I will never use this shop again and I recommend no one who cares about their music to trust this shop. I will be doing my own installs yet again, regardless of how little time I have for it. Price was not cheap for the service delivered either. At least they didn't break anything and the system played when they were done. read more
