Roof Repairs & Maintenance

Martin is all business and no BS. He cuts to the chase about what he is able to do and warranty…read more All the other roofers wanted to tear up and replace the whole roof, including shingles portion, at a significant price point, but Martin was able to work with just the flat roof portion. For best protection, and seeing as how several have tried to patch, he recommended a torch down of a new layer. We've only had a little bit of rain since he did that (super punctual early bird for 2 days) but I have not seen any additional leaks so far. While he was up there, he noticed that our skylight flashing was also compromised (which we already knew from home inspections but most roofers said it was still ok). But I'd rather not have the anxiety of that hanging over my head and since he was reasonable and efficient (most roofers have months long waits), I would wanted him to do the repair there too. The repair must have been more complicated than he thought (he said the previous work was 'weird') because he spent a half day up there, but I'm glad he took his time to do it right. The peace of mind since then has been invaluable as I was losing sleep and my temper over each and every rain. Anyway, in the end, due to the nature of the crappy bitumen from our old flat roof, there were bits everywhere in our yard, but I honestly expected that no matter who was working on it. His 1. Price, 2. Quality, and 3. Short wait time (YMMV) was 10000% deserving of 5 stars

I called yesterday and asked if someone could come to my two-story house in Redondo Beach. Martin…read moresaid that he had a job in the area and that he would call me when he could. This morning, Martin called as promised and came by within 30 minutes. He climbed up to the roof and found the 8 cracked tiles that were broken during the termite tenting we did several months ago. Within an hour Martin had gone to supply depot, picked up the replacement tiles and repaired as he promised. And the cost was very reasonable, given the quick response. I had been making calls to multiple roofers in the area and was getting replies that they were all booked out thru October and November. Martin exceeded my expectations and my family and I can go into the next rainy season feeling better about the potential for leaks.

They came out the next day to inspect the tile on the roof but there wasn't any severe damage to the structure. They helped to replace the broken roof tile and quoted us a fair price.

Luxe Builder Group (Wellington, FL) -- I hired them for an $80K roofing job and while the roof…read moreitself passed city inspection, the experience from start to finish was deeply unprofessional. Here's what I dealt with: * Threatened to walk off the job and cancel tile delivery over a payment dispute -- before the tiles had even arrived on site. * Demanded payment for materials before they were delivered, which was not in our signed contract. * Their roofing work caused our AC to completely shut down. An HVAC tech confirmed the vibrations from hammering tripped the service disconnect in the attic. They refused to cover the $140 repair bill even though it was directly caused by their work. * When I asked if the crew could place old roof tiles in the dumpster on site, I was told to do it myself. * A pool deck drain cover was damaged during the job. Despite weeks of follow-up, it was never replaced. They strung me along saying they were "sourcing the part" -- a part that costs under $50 and snaps in. * After I made my final payment, Aaron texted me claiming he had waived a rafter work charge to cover the drain cost -- but the invoice never changed from day one. There was no waived charge. It was a revisionist move made 30 minutes after receiving final payment. * Communication throughout was inconsistent and I had to follow up repeatedly for basic updates. The roof did pass city inspection and they did provide a 20-year workmanship warranty, which I hope they honor better than they handled the rest of this project. The business conduct throughout -- the threats, the refusal to cover damage they caused, and the last-minute games on the final invoice -- is not what you expect when spending $80K. I would be cautious before hiring this company.

Today (Palm Sunday) we had a leak in the part of the roof Mike hadn't originally installed. I gingerly texted Mike to ask his advice. What I got back was well more than anything I could have expected. Mike called to tell me his supervisor, Travis, was already en route to our house. I then got a call from Travis saying he was twenty minutes out. 18 minutes later, he was at the door. He reviewed the leak inside, got his ladder and climbed up the roof and within ten minutes, was back down and showing me pictures of where he'd determined a dryer vent had let water in. Mike called me back to tell me he had a team he could send. Now. I told him it's Palm Sunday, I don't want to take your guys away from their families. Mike said, they are busy all week, this is my best chance to get this fixed. It won't take more than four hours. I agreed and within an hour, there they were at the door, ready to go. They cleared the tile, laid proper under layers - three layers in total. Then buttoned it all up again and were done within two and a half hours. I got a full set of pictures from Mike explaining every step of what was done. All this would be great on a weekday. But a Sunday? Palm Sunday? I am just in awe. From a customer perspective, it's like having a choice of hiring superheros like Mike and his team, or saying no thank you - I prefer the usual sheisters and snake oil salesmen that typically make up the roofing business. You can spin the wheel and take your chances - but for me - I just feel damn lucky to have found someone who provides this level of service and this quality of work all for a really modest price.

Giovanni visited my home on a Saturday to assess the project, and by Monday, I had a detailed quote in hand. I obtained three quotes for replacing the fascia on the front of my house, and while Mike's Roofing provided the most competitive price, I wanted to ensure that quality wasn't being compromised. After comparing the proposals, I noticed slight differences in how each contractor planned to perform the work. When I spoke with Giovanni about these differences, he was professional, transparent, and knowledgeable. He explained why his team used their particular method, noting that the alternatives weren't necessarily wrong, but that his approach ensured better long-term results. He also assured me that if any issues arose, they would promptly address them and stand by their work. By contrast, the other contractors I spoke with were dismissive and reluctant to explain their methods. Some even stated they wouldn't take responsibility if problems came up later. That experience made my decision to go with Mike's Roofing an easy one. Once I awarded them the job, the team was able to fit me into their schedule quickly. They arrived exactly when they said they would, took great care to protect surrounding areas, and left my property spotless at the end of each day. They removed and replaced all the fascia efficiently and with great attention to detail. The finished result exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship and professionalism were outstanding from start to finish. If you're looking for a reliable, honest, and skilled roofing company, I wholeheartedly recommend Mike's Roofing.
