OVER THE YEARS, I have done business with Curry Equipment. I had bought a 700.00 lawn mower by Honda, which I ended up giving away because the cheaper models were easier to maneuver. Always had a great business relationship with the owner. But, as time passed so did the quality of work.
On March 23, 2015, my YARD-MAN MOWER, stopped working. There were no signs of oil leaks, just quit working. So, I took it to Curry Equipment. I received a telephone call that it needed an air cleaner, and possibly a new gasket. I told the owner to replace the air filter and that was it. The total cost for the air filter and shotty steam cleaning job was 58.00. On March 27th I decided it was time to use my mower. I mowed my lawn for approximately 5 minutes when the mower stopped working. I noticed the dip in the top of the mower was filled with oil. Never in two years since I had gotton the mower had there been any oil leaking much less drowing the top of my mower.
It was the weekend. Luckily my neighbor who works on mowers looked at it. before he even took out a bolt he noticed that part of the gasket was missing around the edge of the mower. once he removed the bolt he called me over to look at what he had discovered. The gasket had been pushed in creating an escape for the oil. I took pictures. My neighbor was able to fix it completely.
On March 30, 2015 I went back to curry equipment to discuss this matter with the owner. His young arrogant staff who represents his company was there to "listen" to my complaint. The attitude displayed was complete disregard. I informed him I would write about this incident on YELP. his reply was, " whatever makes you feel entitled and empowered".
so there it is....the new generation of customer service. too bad so sad, we don't give a damn. This is a small town, and word of mouth gets around. You can't treat your customers like that.
