Great with chainsaw. The team cut down my tall palm tree. I called them because of their reputation and experience, and this tree was a worry to me because it was very close to my house and the neighbor's. They assured me it would be safe and then just climbed the ladder and cut it piece by piece, and within a few minutes each piece landed safely on the ground. They showed up when they said they would; Randy called a couple of hours before arriving so I knew to expect them. Made a call and they were here the next morning. Must've been good timing. Six men with a foreman, two trucks, all necessary equipment...they worked so hard and did a beautiful and pretty meticulous job. Very respectful. Randy, the owner, made sure we were all on the same page. My 3/4 acre was overgrown with grass and bushes and they had it looking so great in less than 5 hours. Highly recommend. I contacted Mr. Kirkland in February of this year and let him know that my husband and I had some trees that needed trimming. He said he would be by to give us a quote. He came to our house and gave us the quote for trimming, and we mailed him a check for half the quoted amount per his request to get on the schedule, and waited for him to contact us to schedule the job. After about a month I contacted him to see how things were going and to see if we could add gutter clean out to our work order. He advised he would need to have the crew look at it when they arrived to give us a quote to add that service and I agreed. And waited for him to contact us to be put on the schedule. March became April, then May. Then June. We would reach out regularly to see if we were going to get on the schedule. It was always the same story that he is having a hard time finding good people to work for him. That he needs 12 people and only has 6. And please be patient. I was always very understanding; and being in customer service I am always careful to not be rude or create drama over things people don't have control over. I sympathized with Mr. Kirkland's plight, told him I understood it was hard to find good help right now, and said I would wait. He did say at this point that "most people give up on him", but we had already established a working relationship and I didn't see any need to give up since these things were out of his control. I'm September my husband sent Mr. Kirkland a text...and received a response that we would get on the schedule for October and to just be patient. And we were. Until yesterday. I called Mr. Kirkland on October 31, since the month came and went with no contact. Went to voicemail, with no outgoing message set up to be able to leave a message, which is very professional. There was a bit of phone tag, and we finally connected about 4:15pm. I have never had such a poor experience with anyone in my life. I am very polite. I speak to others the way I want to be spoken to. I didn't raise my voice at all. And it was the same song and dance. Waiting on a crew. Needs more people. Finally Mr. Kirkland said, "Well, honestly, I have weekly clients that take priority over a one-time customer." (Bold assumption, sir...Had you allowed us to become even a one-time customer we had a lot of work that needed done and we would have given you all the business because it is important to me to "buy local" even if it takes a little longer or costs a little more.) At that point he started calling me "m'am" while using a condescending tone (like you would use on a "Karen"), and completely switched his attitude. At that point I told him to send us the check back. We will be finding other arrangements. read more

Needed help cleaning debris and weeding, was given referral to another guy that does 'clearing' and was not smart enough to understand basic instructions regarding what area to clear and what to leave alone. Pukked out shrub right after I said to leave that one and clear to the right of it! Very frustrating. Called original guy at Kirkland and he got totally bent out of shape that I had a complaint, so unprofessional! He didn't care that what I asked for was not being done and shrub removed after told not too and price quoted was also not what was being asked for on day of job, this is super untrustworthy company and he has a very high opinion of himself and his ability to do good work but I have no idea why. Just experienced another 5 star service from Randy and the Kirkland Five! This time around, my Dad noticed that the cedar and pine trees along his fence line were encroaching into the yard and snuffing out his rhododendron bushes. I immediately thought of Kirkland's Lawn & Yard Service. I called Randy and we discussed the situation. He suggested he give us a quote, and was at my Dad's place in 20 minutes! I really appreciate that level of responsiveness. He evaluated the trees and determined that we had a dead pine needing tree removal in addition to several others that needed a good trim. He quoted us a very reasonable price including haul away service. This morning the Kirkland Five descended on the trees like a colony of hungry beavers. They pruned the trees, removed the dead pine and hauled away every scrap, leaving that part of the yard much lighter for the rhododendrons. My Dad is very pleased with the result.
