Curry District did not disappoint! My family went here recently to taste test for my brother's wedding and we were sold! We were very impressed by the flavors of the appetizers especially the owner's recommendation of the Karampodi Gobi! It all had a good level of spice and plenty of flavor compared to what other Indian restaurants are serving up! The mango lassi was also delicious especially after some spicy food! (definitely a must in my book) We took some entrees to go to share with some of our other family as well! The Bendi Masala was a nice veg alternative to the usual palak paneer! It was definitely spicy and flavorful! The goat curry and gulab jamin were also delicious! We could tell the chicken tikka used chicken breast and that made it a little dry but the flavor of the curry was spot on! The owner and the staff were super nice! He took the time to sit with us and recommend plenty of items and what was ideal for a big party. The store wasn't the biggest but majority of their traffic seems to be take out orders so there was plenty of space! I dined here with my husband during the very first week of moving to Texas and remember admiring the clean restaurant and good ambience. Service was pretty fast, staff were very responsive and the food portions were huge. But, the reason why we didn't visit this place again was the unbearable spiciness in the food which made me tear up and caused stomach discomfort immediately. Boatload of butter flavor and veggies were pretty chunky and overwhelming. Pass. Also, a nod to my south Indian roots with the chicken curry- can't pass that up- yesssssssss ma'am! Good flavor but again with the chunky veggies- flavor could have been more smooth, but I enjoyed this more than the chicken tikka. You have to get some naan to sop and soak up all that flavor. No doubt. Buttery, crispy but still chewy and flavorful. Nice addition, but maybe two to an order would be more price worthy. I have been a regular here for almost 3 months and I still love it. The flavors are very intense and robust and not offensive like a punch to the face. My usuals are the Manchuria chicken and the butter chicken with a hot chai. Both of them are very flavorful and my style of spiciness as it is indo Chinese style. Unfortunately it's not for the faint of heart as some acquaintances of mine could not handle the spice due to their incompatible palate of regular culinary ethnicities. Every once in a while, I get a real craving for some authentic Indian food and yesterday was the day. My friends and I were going to explore some trails in the area so we needed to fuel up. As I was leaving my house, I called in for some Dal Tadaka (lentil curry) with garlic naan, Aloo Gobi (potatoes and cauliflower curry) with basmati rice, boneless chicken biryani (chicken cooked with rice), a full order of garlic naan and, samosas (potato and peas in a fried doughy triangle) a mango lassi (yogurt mango drink). By the time I arrived, it was ready to go. I was the only person picking up for lunch and it smelled divine on the way to her house. We laid it all out on the counter and it was a ton of food! My friends had never tried the dal, aloo gobi or Mango lassi before and that was all good. We used the naan to scoop up the dal which is basically lentils cooked for a long time until it's more like a puree. It was all very delicious. Our hands down favorites were the chicken biryani that had just the right amount of heat for us all. The garlic naan was amazing. The samosas were so good with the tamarind sauce. The mint sauce that comes with is good too but I'm partial to the tangy, savory tamarind. We had two helpings of everything and there was still enough for me to drag home after our walk. I love takeout like this. I have enough for three other meals and I'm going to polish off the biryani for dinner today! If you're not fluid in ordering Indian food, give it a try. I'd recommend you start with the biryani or tandoori. Those dishes are not swimming in a curry sauce. Garlic naan and samosas are a must have. Well? What are you waiting for? Go there. Get some. I have to update this review. Curries still taste good and naan is delicious, but the last few times I have been to Curry District the goat curry, for instance, is all bones with some chewy fat and no meat. It is so weird to expect to eat some meat and chew on bones and hard fat instead. Also, it upsets my stomach, which Indian food does not generally do. And, though I get the food to go mostly, any time I enter to pick up my order the cashiers fingernails are very dirty, making me wonder if the cooks are this way too. I am sad to say I wont be back for a while. 5 stars for taste and the staff are generally nice, 1 star for quality of meat and hygiene. read more

A great variety of Indian cuisine! The large menu has several vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes to choose from and even family meal packs. I usually get one of the paneer dishes and all of them tasted delicious. TLDR: THE BEST EVENT CATERING AND THE BEST FOOD!!! When my husband and I began finding caterers for our reception, we tried about 8 places until we realized that no place truly captured rich and aromatic desi flavor with undeniable professionalism. That was until our uncle recommended we try Curry District. When we went in to try food for our event, we were hesitant as we didn't want to get our hopes up. However, the moment we tried their butter chicken, biryani and chicken 65, we went to sleep dreaming about their food and were back the next day for more! We knew this was the place we wanted for our event! Not only was their food absolutely delicious - we love their service and their catering manager, Sunand. He was so patient with us and explained with both empathy and knowledge what dishes would be best for us and our families! He even allowed us to make changes and add more dishes up until a week before our wedding (we kept trying new items and falling in love with more dishes, oops!) He was also incredibly attentive to various allergies that our guests had. We love Curry District so much that even a week before our reception, we were craving it and had to go have it (even though we knew we would have left overs for days given the abundant quantity they provide!) I am very happy with the Curry District today. Because I have ordered a family sized boneless chicken biryani and chicken curry with extra sauce when I came to pick it up the food that I had ordered was just coming out the kitchen. And the smell was so good that I could taste it in my mouth. However, I noticed that the chicken curry was in a regular container. I immediately asked the young lady in front that I had asked for the extra sauce over the phone. She said it's already in the container. I told the young woman that the container is regular and I don't see any extra sauce in it. She asked the other woman and told the owner in the kitchen that I ordered extra sauce. He came out and said he will do it. In less than 5 minutes it was done. I thanked him and the 2 young women. I was willing to pay extra money for it but he told me that it's ok this time. The garlic naan and rice were fine. Very typical. However, the butter chiken was very watery and bland. I had read this in previous reviews, but was also seeing mixed reviews on the butter chick so thought I'd try for myself. The food here is excellent, I have moved to the area about 3 weeks ago and I have eaten here multiple times. The one star off is because this is honest to god the slowest restaurant I ever been to my life. Where as most Indian restaurants can get their food to you within 15-20 minutes. The place takes between 30 minutes to an hour. Whatever time they have given me to pick up the food I always have had to wait some additional amount of time. I used to love ordering from this place and recommend it to others. The last two times I went weren't great but thought it was just a fluke. Today I ordered and they messed up my order completely. I got all the way home and they had not given me all my items. When I called to the restaurant they were extremely rude saying they couldn't refund me and that I was lying about not getting items I asked for.
