I undertook a wide-ranging search of Twin Cities 1-bedroom apartments with a large enough open area…read moreto squeeze in my 5'10" baby grand piano (which required about 6'x9' of space). Needless to say, there aren't many floorplans out there that fit my need. Towards the end of my search I was surprised to find The Bluestone floorplan at Stoneleigh, which fit my requirements. During my tour, I admired the design and finish of the apartment building, and then the apartments themselves. I didn't see other apartments in this price range (sub-$2,000) with crown molding, subtle wall accent color, 1000+ sq ft, and even in-unit full-size washer/dryers. However, I would have preferred a more functional breakfast bar, a bit more kitchen counter space, and a gas range in lieu of the electric stove. Stoneleigh is a large complex with over 300 apartments spread across four buildings. The main building is pet-free and hosts two fitness centers, two common areas that can be rented for the day, along with the leasing offices. Speaking of leasing, ask for Barbara when you visit, as she was a joy to work with and on top of all of the paperwork with appropriate follow-up. There is a lovely large pool outside the main building, with charcoal grills beyond in a shaded picnic area (no propane grills available). Grocery stores, a Target, Starbucks, and the like are all a 5-minute drive away. A major bicycle trail heads north to Maple Grove from this complex.

At a friends suggestion, I created a list of criteria that I wanted in an apartment before I started visiting properties. Not just the obvious criteria. o I listed Design quality. I wanted more than 4 walls. I selected a one large bedroom, with fireplace, built in desk, walk-in pantry, with storage down the hall. Top floor by the elevator with view of pool. o I listed concierge style customer service. At Stoneleigh, a team of customer care professionals are there to assist you in the way that you would receive assistance at a 5 star resort. o I listed a competent, responsive maintenance team. Stoneleigh offers world class maintenance service from an exceptional team led by Roger and Curt. I delayed buying a condo for an extra year because I didn't want to be "on my own" without these two teams. A sign of a great leader is one who won't ask his team to do anything he is not willing to do. Andrew models "leading by example." If you are looking for a short term transitional solution or a long term living solution, you will want to visit Stoneleigh.

The first time I was given a different number than the one listed on the site and showed a wrong apartment than the size i requested. They had a number of fees added which i learned my second visit and it make sense since they're a fenced in complex. They made me wait 10 minutes my first visit and about 30 my second before visiting an apartment. I was pretty sold on renting with them after my second visit with the correct sized apartment although i got home and realized the apartment they were going to place me in was a second floor apartment. I was pretty frustrated and opted to seek housing elsewhere. This is a huge bummer because their apartments are gorgeous, spacious, and they appear to be very nice individuals. Although i prefer upfront communication, honesty, and to know what I'm signing up for versus moving into an apartment that will not work for me and then needing to move (they also mentioned to me that many renters do move apartments and I suspect this is why). They did a good job of follow up text and calls as well. Giving me time to think and make decisions.

I've enjoyed living here for fifteen years and have found help as needed that saves me from moving to much more expensive assisted living or nursing home. Common Bond Communities is doing a good job as non-profit owner/operator here. Twice a month a food shelf staffed by our volunteers offers good foods and beverages donated from stores and Second Harvest Heartland and delivered by High-Rise food-shelf service. Our Community Room is also available free for any resident to reserve for parties and used for potluck suppers, bingo, art classes, learning exercise routines, piano lessons and playing, watching TV together or alone. We also have a library of books and jigsaw puzzles where we also play games. Our patio in well furnished, with our resident team creating a beautiful display of flowering plants, overlooking our little pond and big trees, separating us from traffic on Revere Lane. A few residents have small dogs that many enjoy petting. There's a laundry room well maintained on each floor, and a pantry with grocery carts donated by the Cub across Revere Lane. Air conditioners are the slide-in type, apart from the excellent windows. Plymouth offers more than the usual transit/ride options to senior residents, and some neighbors with cars give help to others. Most are women, a few are men and some years 1 or 2 couples. Emergency services quickly arrive when needed; police, fire and EMTs all seem very skilled, equipped and caring professionals.

Luxury price, cheap quality. Other places are better for the same price such as Vicksburg village…read more Ridiculous noise. Floors are extremely creaky, Floors and walls are very thin. Could hear neighbors talking, TV, footsteps etc. Kids running and biking (!) through the hallways. Heard one while writing this. The whole building shakes when they take the dumpsters out of the garages (early in the morning of course). They put a couple with a cat in the single bedroom above me. They woke me up early almost every morning (including weekends) stomping around and slamming drawers (my door would literally rattle) and the cat ran around like it was on crack all evening. They allow large dogs (and kids) so you could have it even worse. And the dude had never heard of an 'inside voice'. The vents are connected + right by the bedrooms so I could clearly hear them talking/watching TV often. Landlords refused to let me break the lease early and tried to gaslight like it was my fault somehow. They offered to transfer and put me on a new lease so they could squeeze more money from me in a unit that was probably just as bad. The early termination clause doesn't allow you to terminate in winter and you have to pay two extra months anyway, so I was stuck until my lease ended in April. They never fixed my shower where water was pooling causing mold. How am I supposed to get clean when my shower is moldy? Old dingy building (built in 88 out of wood) it seriously looks like a worse version of the hotel from the shining Probably a fire hazard Stains and painted over hair on the bathroom walls In unit laundry is tiny, some items can't fit at all like a sleeping bag, large comforter Management will not do anything useful about any complaints. Doesn't let you keep your bike on your balcony for some reason Dumpster in garage always smells awful, have to walk past it to get to car, some people have to park in the cloud of stench Shopping carts are provided for moving things from the garage to your room, but they are broken, vandalized, and rarely returned Gym is too hot in the summer (75 in early summer when I was the only one in there) because there are giant windows and the A/C can't keep up. They have two treadmills but one was broken the whole time and the other was usually taken. Weight room is ok but the plates are mismatched, they don't fit on one of the bars, people don't clean up (could set up cameras, even fake ones, to enforce this as well as in the hallway and with the carts but they don't). It would get busy even when I was unemployed and going at 2pm on a work day. Hot tub is not in the main building so it is seasonal, and not the season you want Don't maintain the path behind the building. There is literally no other walking path to the sidewalk so taking a walk in the winter is straight up dangerous. Most people walk through the roundabout entrance which is always slippery and has cars coming through. Always doing maintenance in the summer, making you move your car or making tons of noise during work hours Also make you move your car out of the underground garage in winter quite often. There is not adequate street parking and they don't even reserve it the night before so you have to get up early morning of. Tons of junk mail Charged a late fee because their auto pay system doesn't "auto pay" when you renew your lease. No warning or first time waiver. Vending machines are nice, the snack one has a lot of options but the drink one doesn't Mostly old people (quiet and friendly) and families (loud but usually friendly as well) Underground garage is a reasonable price. They will probably raise it after reading this review since they charge a ludicrous amount for rent. Appliances were fine. Of course, you will hear your neighbors' running every time. Maintenance is quick to respond but can't fix something even simple like a toilet handle and refuse to fix anything difficult, even when it's required for a basic living standard. They don't change the recycling often enough so you have to be quick to use it before it's overflowing. Plymouth is also a mediocre place to live.

These scumbags will tow your car out of the lot even when half of the parking spaces are open AND the residents park in a covered underground lot. There's no sign at the front of any lots warning about this and they check at the most ridiculous time. I came here to see a friend from 7pm-12am to walk out to no car. My friend was never given a guest pass or even made aware of this policy and the front office scum buckets refuse to take responsibility. Are they in kudos with the tow company to make them easy money? Whatever it is, feels like an obvious scam and i shouldn't have to pay an impound fee for parking in the OPEN LOT outside of my friend's apartment. Screw this place. All of the other reviews here over the years seem consistent with my friend's personal complaints too. Don't support these people with your rent money, they'll spit on you and disregard you and any of your friends/guests just for a quick buck.

First and foremost I've never met a more courteous staff who is willing to go far above standards to do as much as they possibly can within their limits for the people that live in their building! They deserve much more money than I'm sure they're being paid from such a stingy company. I pay an additional fee every month to park in an underground lot ... I walked downstairs to my car with my windows smashed out. I called the police who then requested the camera footage and there was NONE. ZERO. NADA ... because BIGOS doesn't want to pay for it. Cheap. And dangerous. Later in the year many smaller occurrences such as vomit all over the parking garage floor (super cool to think we have no camera footage of a drunk driver in our building).... people broke glass IN the swimming pool .... nope no cameras so no clue who did it..... EIGHT packages stolen from the entry way because we have NO CAMERAS why wouldn't they steal? ... it's not like the police have any evidence like from a camera! Now shit just got real. A girl got raped in the building and police were everywhere for 2 freaking days! They never caught him. We have no cameras! And now someone smashed the secured entry doors and we just have plywood AND NO CAMERAS ... so it's no longer a secured entry. It's absolutely down right dangerous here. No front door. No camera. Rapist on the loose. On top of having a broken water regulator so you are either freezing or being dangerously burned! Small potatoes tho when you have literally no security. Now they want residence who want out of their lease to pay an additional fee to leave lol. This is a joke right? For the record. This has NOTHING to do with the office staff who do an above and beyond fabulous (like I have never seen before) great job! It's corporate. I cannot express this enough. The office workers don't even get to pick out the damn holiday decorations let alone mange any real decisions without corporate stingy BIGOS having a say so. Even though the corporate office has literally no idea what it's like to manage a building they're completely out of touch and the people who actually do the day-to-day work and know what's going on try their hardest and are handicapped by such a greedy Corporation. BIGOS loves money not people.
