We spent a lovely week at Curlew Cottage and could not have been more pleased! The love with which Carol has decorated this spacious home is obvious, as is her good taste. The beds are comfortable, the views excellent (we saw some WONDERFUL sunsets), and the house spacious enough that sounds from the sitting room and kitchen do not travel back to the bedrooms.Modern appliances, an easy to navigate kitchen, and every kind of utensil you could need made cooking meals a pleasure. And the dining area is lovely! Not that we had to cook and eat-in, mind you - there is a good variety of restaurants to choose from within a few minutes drive from Curlew Cottage. Carol has made available a comprehensive list of activities to enjoy throughout Dingle Peninsula. We particularly recommend the tour to Great Blasket Island out of Dingle - phenomenal! And the drive over the Dingle Mountains is not to be missed! Be sure to leave yourselves enough time to drive over Conor Pass if you have any kind of deadline to meet (boat trip, dinner reservation, etc) on the other side. All-in-all, staying at Curlew Cottage made for a memorable week, and we can't wait to return! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Carol C.

Carol and Enda have owned Curlew Cottage since 2006, and Carol does the day-to-day management of the property. The couple are widely travelled and understand the importance of offering accomodation that is not only like a home away from home but well stocked with essentials so weary travelers can move right in and start enjoying their vacation! As parents they are sensitive to the needs of families, and as the owners of two dogs they know how hard it is to find high quality accomodation when traveling with a pet -- so they have kept the needs of both groups in mind when furnishing and kitting out the house and garden. Carol was born in New York, fell in love with Ireland, and has lived here for over 30 years; Enda is a native of Dublin. They have been vacationing in Kerry for many years and enjoy spending time in Curlew Cottage when it is not rented.
