She offers a great price (probably 20% below most other tailors in the city) and provides same day service if you ask for it. I went there to fix my suit and she did a great job on something quite complex. Subsequently, I introduced my girlfriend there to fix her evening dress ($3000 dress) and the lady did a great job. OK, I'm not reviewing this for the service as (I promise) I've never used it, but it is a well…read moreknown institution in the Rushcutters Bay area. For one thing, most people in the area believe this brothel to be having a running joke with the shop that is either side of its entrance - The Box Shop. Yes, that name is appropriate, and the actual Box Shop has advertising along the top of the building (the blacked out windows on the second floor would suggest this is where the ladies do their work) which currently reads "Boxes Boxes Boxes", which recently replaced "Moving Boxes For Hire". The area is like a little community, and during my time working in one of the local eateries, we used to deliver more than once a day to Michelle's and they were always polite and friendly (the same could not be said for the lady at Liaisons who once berated me on the phone for delivering 2 wrong orders - before realising that they simply needed to swap them around). It also offers some light entertainment if you're having breakfast at Bay 88 across the road, watching who goes in and out. They try and pretend to be invisible but they're really not!

The reason - because it's a local hangout for the dudes of the hood (otherwise known as any male residing in North Sydney). It's an institution in the sense that it's been here a long time and men come here to chat. It's next door to a coffee shop and I was watching one day as George (I'm only guessing) nattered to the Dad's with their kids, came out every 5 minutes to check out the street (or get some fresh air... or move his limbs... who knows why old George moves around so much). I love the blue themed postcards covering the wall. I love being a woman but sometimes when I walk past George's place I want to know what it's like on the other side.
