    Long line out the door
    David C.

Cuppacha was right next door to Happy Lemon in London Chinatown so they have to be doing tapioca pretty well to be able to compete. Long story short, Cuppacha way better than Happy Lemon for sure! With the line out the door, this place had to be doing something right. My main problem about this place though is that they really need to upgrade to a bigger store. There are a couple seats inside the shop, but it's really only enough room for people to sit while they wait in line. And the line gets so long/crowded, even if you do manage to sit down, you have someone literally standing right next to you so it's rather uncomfortable. But as far as the drinks go, we tried their matcha milk tea with tapioca, 50% sweet and 50% ice level. The drink came out just about perfect to how we like it, and that's saying a lot cause we have TONS of different tapioca places back in Houston, Texas. The matcha flavor was strong and the tapioca pearls were the right softness. I'll definitely be back to visit Cuppacha again. Maybe if you're lucky, you can catch them with a shorter line during an off time of day.

Stumbled upon Cuppacha while strolling the Chinatown area of London. I come from Houston where I frequently visit tapioca shops both chain and mom-and-pop shops to fulfill my cravings. So having stumbled upon Cuppacha in London was exciting! The line was long and I realized that the shop was quite tiny. The flavors were normal flavors, nothing out of the ordinary, and I opted for a matcha milk tea. The boba's texture was soft and chewy, and I appreciated that they catered to both the ice and sugar levels. A larger store front would be cool if I ever visit again, but the drink was otherwise solid.

[Pre-COVID post] I was walking around Chinatown when I stumbled upon Cuppacha. It had such cute branding and a huge crowd surround it that made me interested in trying it. I had a pearl milk tea with easy ice and boba here, but it was a little disappointing because the tea was pretty weak and not very sweet.

Kinda taste like water. One of the most horrible bubble teas i have ever tried. Not sure why people are reviewing 4 stars for this averagely. I guess no brand shows that it would not be good. This is definitely not a recommended bubble tea place in london. I will never go back anymore.

Lots and lots of choices of bubble teas. Great service and friendly. The taste of the drinks were okay and it's fairly priced. It's kind of small and hot inside. There's always crowd in this establishment and mostly younger kids or teenagers. Great selections of bubble teas and fresh fruity drinks

Japanese pop rice milk tea. . Super yummy

Japanese pop rice milk tea light sweet and light rice with boba was so good! Never had pop rice with milk tea but I love it as a tea and so good with boba! The boba itself is really good. Only downside is the cafe is small so not a lot of space to sit and enjoy your drink, only benches around the perimeter. I would definitely go back

One of the questions I will always say yes to is 'would you like a cup of tea'. Which is why when my friend asked to go grab some bubble tea I said yes. I had tried bubble tea before and was not very impressed but I thought I'd give it another go as since then I have started having milk in my tea and trying out different flavours. We decided to go to Cuppacha as our other friend really likes it and after I went through the menu several times I decided on the Rose Milk Tea with the tapioca beans. Unfortunately they had just run out as apparently the flavour is quite popular with women so I switched to hazelnut instead. As a flavour I thought it was a bit on the sweet side, with a burnt flavour in it that I was not sure if it was intentional or not. The bubbles however, I really was unable to get past. To me they just feel unnatural and like those things kids under 3 are not supposed to swallow. My friends suggested that I try the bubbles that burst and have sweet liquid inside or the jelly next time and I am determined to do so. They insist that bubble tea is more of an acquired taste and I do think that it must be true for it to be so popular. I am definitely up for going back to find the right flavour combination for me so I can enjoy that mysterious tea phenomenon and I will most certainly keep you posted about it but in general I would in fact recommend trying it out and visiting this particular shop as it is quite cute and very popular with bubble tea lovers.

I have to say Cuppacha do the best bubble tea in town!! There are so many bubble tea shop around and this is my favourite!! They are not only authentic but they are the only one that I can taste real "Tea" taste in the bubble tea. As a tea lover, I wanted to drink a bubble tea with real tea in it instead if just some fancy name or colourful drink with pearl. Therefore I go with my taste bud instead of following the queue in the other place that claim world chain but got disappoint by bad service and watery tasteless bubble tea. There is queue here too but staff are really friendly and helpful. Price wise.....3.25 for normal and 3.75 for large including pearl .......I think is cheapest in town.......most important is they always remind me what pearl/topping I want in my tea! You can find so many authentic flavour here that you see in Taiwan...... Which make me so difficult to decide what I want everytime and this is also one of the reason make me keep coming back to here to try out other flavour. The pearl is cook to perfection.....Sweet and chewy. I find that I really enjoy biting each one of them. I'm a tea lover so my list of my preference mainly all tea. These are my favourite Earl grey milk tea Roasted oolong milk tea Jasmine milk tea Matcha milk tea Plum green tea Winter melon lemon I have to add one more point here too..... My husband didn't like bubble tea he think that is a girly thing but I converted him with their oolong pearl milk tea!!! LOL

So I love this bubble tea place and still think it's 5 stars! I just felt I should update my review since the other one was almost two years old! Bubble tea is all the rage but not all bubble tea is equal ! So don't be fooled!! This place is great! They use real tea and milk and it taste amazing ! None of that chemical fake sugars junk you might get at other more western bubble tea places... Today I got a iced kumquat green tea with tapioca balls and as usual it was delicious and full or flavour! They also do their drinks with bubbles WARM , which I had tried and is great on a winters day! Love love love this place

Dawn Lychee Ombré Fruit Tea with Lychee Popping Jelly Rate: 10/10

Since Happy Lemon was next door and we have it in California, my friends and I decided to try to something new during our time in London. First time trying this place and I'm from the states, so my experience was great. Staff was nice and drink was prepared at a good time. Wanted to try something that I have never had in America so the Dawn Lychee Ombré fruit tea was a great choice if you are looking for something fruity, not to sweet, and refreshing while you go out and run errands or go food shopping. Since Happy Lemon was next door and we have it in California, my friends and I decided to try to something new during our time in London.

Small grass jelly roasted oolong milk tea. Cold.

I didn't feel like braving the queue at Chatime so came to Cuppacha instead. Having passed by this shop more times than I can remember, I feel like I should apologise to the owners for not giving it a chance earlier but still would not pick it as my first choice. Their grass jelly roast oolong milk tea was delicious but not as rich as Chatime's similar house special. This may be because when ordering cold drinks, the staff mix the drink in a cocktail shaker but pour ice cubes into the serving cup. As the ice melts, the tea gets thinner and thinner, not to mention that eventually the ice cubes will be small enough to travel up the thick straws designed for the grass jelly or bubbles. The menu does look rather extensive though and I wouldn't say no to some of the more difficult to source teas available. The staff are friendly and you can personalise your drink's sugar levels a little more than at Chatime. For grass jelly tea, especially the roasted kind, I'd stick with Chatime. Just make sure you can spare the 35 minutes :P

    Matcha milk tea with pearls

I got Matcha Milk tea with pearls, loved it (with a slight sugar and no ice). Tasted like green/matcha creamy tea and the pearls are yummy. Will come again. Price is £3.85 for regular. Next time I might go for something a bit sweeter :)

I never really got into the whole boba hype when I was growing up. Still, the prospect of boba on the other side of the Atlantic piqued my interest when I was in the neighborhood... First things first: you'll definitely feel the dollar-to-pound conversion when you peruse the menu. While I am no stranger to paying extra for some of the fancier toppings (like jellies), I was a little disappointed to see that even the boba tapioca balls cost an extra £0.50. (Maybe this is normal outside of the States, where the drink is known as "milk tea" instead of "boba"? Because otherwise I find it hard to believe that boba can be sold without, well, the boba...) I went with the Assam black milk tea because I find that choosing the most basic of milk teas is the best way to evaluate a boba spot. It wasn't as sweet as the basic black milk teas that I usually can find in the U.S. (understandable, as most drinks in the U.S. are probably sugarier). The boba was fresh (to be expected, as I had pay extra for it...) At the end of the day, I had paid £4.50 for the regular size of some pretty average tasting boba. The shop itself is pretty tiny, though the seating is pretty hip-looking.
