I'm always afraid when seeing someone new, as it can be somewhat daunting sharing your life with a stranger, but I felt comfortable with Dr. J right away. She is so calm and caring, and I truly felt like more than just a patient to her. She was able to address what I was going through and explain it to me in a way that was enlightening and not overwhelming. I also truly appreciate Dr. J because I had been seeing a different therapist on and off for 8+ years and Dr. J was able to give me a diagnosis I had been looking for (and didn't know I needed!) after all this time, which helped answer a lot of questions about myself, and gave me better insight into the treatment I needed. Additionally, I love where her office is located and the way she has decorated the inside is so serene and comfortable. If you're considering Dr. J for yourself, I can't recommend her enough!!

She made me feel so comfortable from our very first meeting, and she has been kind and supportive while also offering guidance as needed. I'm thrilled to have found someone who has such a broad range of expertise, from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to nutrition. Most importantly, she doesn't feel the need to "fix" or pathologize when all that is needed is support and reassurance -- and conversely, she's not afraid to give a little push when one is needed. I appreciate Jeanine and highly recommend her to other prospective clients!

Getting a psychologist is just about impossible. First off all, how do you know who to choose?…read moreUnlike most medical professions, in my opinion, there are VASTLY different styles of psychology and it is urgent that you get one that suits you. After researching on the internet as much as possible, I made of list of possibilities. I then discovered that the vast majority of psychologists are full and not accepting patients. Those that do have openings have them mid-day, which won't work for somebody that works during the day when a regular schedule of appointments is required. One of the psychologists I contacted had no openings but another psychologist had recently moved into the building and needed patients, so I was able to set up a schedule with her (my first psychologist); She was very into things like breathing and posture. She also had a very large collection of small figurines that she said we would be using in the future to act things out. Honestly, this is all a little too 'new age' for my liking, but I tried her for a while, having no better option. Eventually, she made a response to something I had described as a major issue early in my life and how I had been forced to deal with it and, after leaving, the more I though about it, the more off-base I considered that remark, so I ended up leaving her a message that I would not be returning. Back to the hunt and I was forced to begin casting my net wider from where I live. I came across Dr Ingrid Sandberg in Dublin and she had evening availability! To make a long story shorter, I have been seeing her for a number of years now and she is awesome. She is very cognitive distortion oriented, which is what I think I most needed. She is very flexible in her ability to schedule me, what started out as evenings every two weeks and and since become evenings every 3-4 weeks. I have never understood why she is not busier than she seems to be. I highly recommend her, but if you are reading this, just don't make it more difficult for me to see her!
