NEVER EVER GOING THERE AGAIN. AVOID THESE FAKESTERS. MEDINA SUPERSTORE, MAS BAZAR and even BANGLa STATION with its high prices is better than Paks supermarket lozells road, atleast in Bangl station you gonna get fresh produce at the weight it's supposed to be at even if they charge extra but at PaKsSupermarket Lozells not only they charge you but the hive you produce which is gone bad and even from there they will steal a few pieces out. STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY. BTW have you guys seen the TikTok videos by PaKs lozells road, all comments are turned off. we wonder why. must be a reason. what have you got to hide. you don't want the word getting around that you guys are leeching off the local community. you disgraceful people. Pak supermarket Alum rock and Cov Road is really good btw. recommend it to all.

A very regular and favourite restaurant with many Asian communities, it's a very well trusted establishment with high quality food. I've been going here for years with family and genuinely LOVE their food. They have a huge plethora of great Indian food, including; mixed thalis, take away Indian sweets, samosas, pakoras, curries, Vegetable wraps, snacks, rasmali.... etc. My recommendation would be try the mixed thali at £4.95, which includes 2 curries of your choice, dahl, rice, yogurt, and 2 roti's or 2 naan breads. Great value, not too spicy and the taste is brilliant. For take away, try the paneer samosas ( if they have any left! ), and ask the attendant to make up a mixed box of sweets for you, you'll be hooked. And finally, the ice-cold Mango lassi to wash it all down with. If you have any money left, ask for the chickpea curry, a medium sized box is enough for 3 people to share. They also cater for special occasions, and on several visits I have seen customers pre-order up to 50 samosas to takeaway. There are always queues, lunchtimes are busy, and on special Hindu festivals, such as Diwali, you can't get into the shop, as it's packed out, and they queue goes onto the street. It's extremely popular, and the food uses traditional authentic and fresh ingredients. The flavours are as you would expect, but they know good Indian cooking. Milan's has a name for itself, and you'll always find families, business men and even youngsters eating out in here on a date! You will not be disappointed with the food, service and quality. Maybe 1 day I can buy some shares in this business....

I love everything about this place but also the general area. We usually have a Masala Dhosa and sample a few sweets before buying about £30 worth of their amazing samosas, bhajis, etc. to last until our next trip to Brum! Another thing, when you've tasted their samosas, you'll never be able to taste Tesco's/Sainsbury's ones again! As mentioned in a previous review, this place can get very busy, in fact just last weekend after we finished eating, it started to fill up. There were 7 people sitting at the tables and about 10 in a queue waiting for orders. It's no surprise this place is popular and I'd recommend it to all, even if (like me) you're not really into Indian food.

I will warn you that this grocer is always busy so don't be surprised if you get squashed. I did find the front of the shop to be narrow and you did feel crammed in. However the back of Wah Wah Mirchi Supermarket is quite spacious. That would be my only complaint. Because it was raining on the day I took the photo of this place, the canopies and covers were in place which could only be a good thing. Whenever it is a warm day both the canopies and covers are not to be seen. There is so much variety and choice of fruit and vegetables to choose from. You can also find frozen food here such as: peas, Asian frozen savouries etc. It wasn't a bad experience coming here but I don't think I will be visiting again simply because there are closer green grocer stores. But for the locals living in Birmingham and Handsworth, this is a supermarket worth coming to.

I suppose this is testament to how good their value for money is! It could be better-maintained so don't be surprised if you're welcomed by random vegetables kicked about on the floor. The staff is made up of all men, who are generally polite and helpful. They're always willing to assist with carrying your shopping to your car, which is a huge relief when you're buying a big bag of onions! The prices here cannot be beaten by any of the Asian supermarkets I've been to before. They usually have offers on seasonal products. If you can't find on-street parking then you can use the car park on Waverhill Road, which is only 20p for the hour!

The name of this business speaks for itself. A vegetarian and sweet centre so no meat dishes here…read morefor those of you who like their meat. But this is actually a decent place to buy Asian sweets and savouries from and I would consider coming back here. Desi Sweet Centre can also cater for any occasion whether you are celebrating a wedding or even a birthday. The vegetarian food here I have to say looked delicious and I was very tempted to give it a try. In the end I decided to buy some samosas and sweets. The samosas were on the greasy side in my view but the filling itself was lovely. You could taste the potato along with the peas and the spiciness was just about right. Some of my friends have tried spring rolls from here and they loved them. Perhaps that is something else I should try next time I come. The prices of the food and sweets are not that expensive compared to other sweet centres on Soho Road. And the staff are first class so that is another positive. Give this place a try. You never know you might just go back.

I don't have a clue what any of it actually is, but I kind of don't want to know - I like the mystery of the neon swirls and neat little squares of ... stuff. I used to wander in here on a regular basis when I worked off the Soho Road. The staff are lovely, and didn't mind me just hanging around looking at things, occasionally pointing, and even occasionally buying small amounts of things to try. I think they found me mildly amusing. The samosas (now these I do know) were always good, nicely spiced (not too hot, not too bland) and the spring rolls were great. The sweets were really tasty too. I can't tell you the names of any of them, as I don't know them, but everything I tried went down well. I don't have a massively sweet tooth, so, to be honest, it's all a bit sweet for me - but I'm aware that that's kind of the point. Anyway, it's a lovely store to wander around in, the savoury food is great (and, obviously, plenty of options for veggies!) and the sweets are really well made, and probably delicious if you like that sort of thing.

That means that whenever I'm visiting Soho Rd to grab some awesome fruit and veg, or more speciality food items, it's the first place I stop. And I'm glad this is the first place I stop - they always have a MASSIVE selection of delicious fruit and veg (some of which, I'm embarrassed to admit, I don't recognise!) - my favourite being the giant pomelos they stock in season, and the juicy mangoes they have all year round. Deeper inside the store, they stock a wider range of good including some fresh food items but also lots of spices, dried food, pulses and legumes, and strange potions and lotions for specialty hair and skin regimes. I never seem to purchase any of these, but coo over the intricate and detailed illustrated packaging. Staff are friendly, and if you need something you can't find they will bustle about to find what it is you need!

They have a very good selection of all kind of fruits, reasonably priced, rices, lentils, flour, sauces, ingredients and spices. You can literally pretty much stock up your whole fridge and cupboards with what you can purchase in this mini store. On the weekends it can be difficult trying to get parking nearby, so if your not able to walk it to here, then the public transport and local bus services are ideal. Overall not a bad handy shop, which sells all things cooking related.
