Great place for a pit stop. We stopped on our way to Marquette and had a great time playing keno with the locals.

The burger is juicy. The sauce is amazing. The onion straws crunchy. The diced up bacon delicious. And a sturdy bun to hold it all together. I could go on and on. In addition they have great vegetable sides, fresh homemade soups and yummy desserts. The owner recommended a maple bacon cheesecake one time we were there and we did not regret it. Creamy and sweet and salty, this cake was fabulous and unusual. The flavors blended together beautifully. I also loved their broasted chicken wings with a sweet and spicy sauce. These are flavorful and moist but not undercooked , nice crispy crunch on the skin as well. Drink prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.

The typical old wood vibe of many UP establishments that have survived the test of time. A spot for pool in the back, guys pee in a trough instead of urinals LOL, there's chalkboard doors with drink specials, random musical performances, a patio out back for hangin and smoking, it's just a great place to enjoy the Yooper life and meet a local or five. It's an easy place to become a regular just based off of the bartenders alone (Tori is a gem, she won't fail to make you laugh). They have great merch like shirts, sweatshirts, stickers, pins, shot glasses, etc. (I designed a few of their stickers while I was in college a decade ago, so glad to see they still sell them grab a buffalo drinking a PBR that I drew while drinking a $1 PBR at the Nickel one night in 2015). Popcorn is available, bubble hockey is a must, try a Nickelade or a green tea shot. I know they had a build your own Bloody bar at one point but I'm not sure if it's a regular thing anymore, if you see it happening don't miss it. I make French onion soup and judge restaurants by their French onion soup. The soup wasn't half bad but that's it. Don't even bother throwing a lawn dart up in the air and closing your eyes. Your chances of getting sick are higher than your chances of getting hit. Coming from a Sous chef myself they didn't chill the soup down or store it correctly. Major rookie mistake if they can't store soup right, what else are they doing wrong back in the kitchen?
