We especially liked the opportunity to hike the beach trail at Bondi Beach, and ride the ferry to Manly both where he let us explore on our own and then met us at the end to resume our journey. He shared good information about the city, made restaurant recommendations, and went out of his way to get us to our final destination and help us with our luggage. We appreciated his kindness and his company on our first day on our first visit to Sydney.

Before I even flew out to Australia, Peter reached out to ask what I was particularly interested in, so he could design an itinerary that would align with my preferences. I spent two days with Peter. One in and around the city of Sydney, and the other in the Blue Mountains National Park. The trip to the Blue Mountains included a stop at the Featherdale Wildlife Park. Even for the days when I was not touring with Peter, he provided recommendations for things to see and do, and most importantly, to eat! I have already started to plan my next trip to Sydney, and those plans include 3 private tours with Peter!

I've always wanted to explore a city using the Hop On Hop Off Bus and I finally had the opportunity…read morewhile visiting Sydney. I purchased the Go City Pass and was able to redeem one of the attraction options for the bus. They have two routes: The red route (city center), and the blue route (beaches). I took the red route. I was able to get a ticket at the Central Station stop. There was an attendant posted at the bus stop who was very helpful with ticket redemption. He also gave me info on the bus routes and schedule. If you download the app, you can track the buses in real time. Your ticket comes with headphones that you can use for the audio guide. The audio tour has multiple language options. The bus is great if you want to use it to take a sightseeing tour. The entire circuit takes 1.5 hours for the blue route and 1.75 hours for the red route. Along the way we saw major sites like the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. I took the bus to the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium and then continued the rest of the route after my visit. Both drivers that I had weren't great at giving enough time for patrons to get on/off the bus. It takes a bit longer since it's a double decker bus. At one point, patrons had to yell to the driver to stop because people were still trying to make their way off the bus from the upper deck. There's a security camera on board so I assumed the driver can see when everyone has entered/exited the bus, but maybe not. My one piece of advice: Do not rely on the bus for transportation if you are in a hurry. There are a lot of stops and it can take time. At one point on the way back from the Aquarium, the driver took a 20 minute break. I contemplated getting off because I was running short on time, but luckily it worked out. The bus is a great way to explore the city and can be a nice form of transportation if you aren't pressed for time.

This worked quite well because it gave us flexibility as we explored Sydney. A one day bus pass is $65 AUD/$42 USD. So easy to collect our passes for the day using the Go City app. Nice that they could accommodate a rollator on the first level for my dad, while my husband and I climbed the stairs to the open top second level. Made a full loop to get a good overview of the city on the Red Loop. Sydney Opera House. Hyde Park. St. Mary's Cathedral. Barangaroo. Woolloomoolo Bay. State Library. The Rocks. Sydney Harbor Bridge. Royal Botanic Gardens. Darling Harbor. King Street Wharf. The audio which is in multiple languages gave a nice introduction to the major attractions in Sydney. Hopped on at Sydney Tower/Westfield Sydney. Definitely look on the app to find the pickup location which is actually near a jewelry store. The app shows a photo of the pickup location. So easy to take the bus to the Royal Botanical Garden and the Sydney Opera House. Also used the Go City Sydney card for booking an accesible tour of the Sydney Opera House. The Hop On Hop Off Buses are not on a specific schedule, so it was a bit of a challenge with the schedule. Buses only run until 5. Good for an overview of the city, but also used UBER to get from place to place.

Some history quirks are mentioned. For instance: why was the Sydney Opera House built over budget? Was the building of the Sydney Opera House Sydney's response to compete with Melbourne? An awesome city unfolds. See some amazing street art, and well as learn about an interesting tree at The Royal Botanical Gardens. Who knows you might get to touch the lucky pig. Discover the best parts of Macquarie Street, Hyde Park, Martin Place, The Ivy, Circular Quay and The Rocks. Gregg really knows his stuff. A walking encyclopaedia. Peek Tours has been around for about three years, and Gregg conducted such tours in Europe prior. All you need to do is turn up at your allocated time. Unless you wish to walk in a group of 10 or more people, bookings need to be made at least 24 hours in advance. Peek Tours also conducts a Party Tour and a Rocks Pub Walk. Had an awesome time. Check out the amazing group photos on their Facebook page. Although the tour is free upfront, tips are advised - pay for what you feel the experience was worth to you at the end. Priceless.

Matt had found so many hidden gems to see from local plants, birds, batts and reptiles, to experiences with Koalas, meerkats, and emus. Matt is a stellar driver so we felt safe at all times, he's super collaborative on how to spend the time, and thoughtful beyond expectation to ensure we had great places to eat even with 2 vegans and 1 celiac. And to top it off, he's the kind of guy you can just relax with, get to know each other, and laugh a lot. It was an amazing day. Highly recommend. And he's an amazing photographer who spent the day taking pictures so we could just enjoy the time without the hassle of grabbing the phone.

She is in her 70's, and I , myself, use a cane. Matt was prompt, personable, and informative. We went to several locations that were outside the normal "tourist traps". We learned about the different plants and trees, and even found out how to make soap in the bush. We got up close, personal, and hands on with some koalas & kangaroos. Had lunch at a local spot, and a local beach. Even had a surprise of a colony of flying fox bats! The trip was amazing, and Matt made us feel like old friends. I was also able to buy an authentic Aboriginal eucalyptus boomerang for my dad (unable to go due to last minute hip issue needing a replacement). We had a FULL day that we were all able to enjoy thoroughly. Thank you, Matt.

Want to achieve the 'Triple D' satisfaction level? Well, if you have a great liking for 'sweet…read moretooth' and would like to excite those taste buds to a new level... then Cupcake and Dessert Tour will meet your expectations, even for the fussiest ones. This tour involves a lot of walking, about three hours, not strenuous though but appropriate, comfortable shoes will help you enjoy this tour even more. Your meeting and starting point is at Hyde Park where your tour guide will handout 'Foodi' tags to place around your necks so you are easily identifiable as the 'Foodi' group where you can start to enjoy the prepaid sweets along your journey. But before you start the tour, check out the weather first. The tour will go ahead regardless of the weather, so if it's a sunny day, then bring along a hat, sunnies and sunscreen. Rainy? Umbrellas or raincoats of course! Also a bottle of water that has a double purpose, to stay hydrated and cleanse the palate between tastings. You will visit seven top venues in Sydney with samples at each venue. Your first indulgence is a mini cupcake, I wasn't impressed with the size at first but was reassured by our tour guide that by the time we get to the last venue, we will be overdosed with sweets. She was right, although we had walking breaks in between venues, we did struggle to eat our last treat... but we managed, couldn't resist the temptation! The cost covers a treat at each venue, guided by your tour guide with a wealth of knowledgeable information and history about the venues and their sweets plus an added bonus of some of Sydney's monuments history while walking by heading to the next 'sweet sensational' venue. Fair price... right? Unfortunately, I am unable to share the venues you will visit, I don't think Foodi would appreciate me sharing that information with you. However, I can reassure you the places that you will visit are awesome and enough to make your mouths drool. I do want to add this, bring along a small cake box, in case you cannot fit the sweets during your tour so you can enjoy them later that day/evening or the following day? I wish I had known that. I'm guessing you would like to know what the 'Triple D' stands for? It's Delicious, Delectable and Delightful.
