The pro tip here is to get a pound of the candied pecans to take home with you, they are life affirming. Are you disappointed by the dearth of decent cheese in the United States? Well Mint has a panoply of incredible cheeses from Europe and the charcuterie and cheese plate gives you an almost indecent amount of cured meats and stunning cheeses with freshly toasted baguette and a generous portion of Membrillo for a very reasonable (in today's economy) $29. You might be tempted by the Moroccan Chicken, and you should be, it is delicious but for me they do a really amazing Steak Frites that is cooked to perfection. I ordered mine "à point" or medium rare and it was absolutely as advertised. My husband had the Cuban on gluten free bread and was very happy with it. The ambience of the restaurant is really nice, it is very warm and inviting with cool decoration and big vats of marinated olives and other delicious mezze, or Kamio to be nationally accurate. Check out the cheese selection in my photos, it really is S tier.

Graced this lovely spot for a birthday dinner with friends and it was just lovely. Great, festive…read moreand friendly vibe and attentive, patient service and the food was quite tasty! The restaurant - like most spots in Tarrytown on a night when there's a show at Tarrytown Music Hall - was bustling when we arrived, and we were promptly shown to our reserved seats. I love the array of cheeses and olives in the restaurant's "general store" in the front of the house. We ordered a round of classic drinks (mojito, whiskey sour, gin and tonic, Malibu and pineapple juice - we're not big drinkers) and each drink was on point and not overly heavy on the liquor, which I appreciate. We weren't famished, so we all ordered burgers and sandwiches, which were quite good, especially my Cubano I want to return to try some entrees - like the butternut squash risotto - which looked interesting and promising! But the star of this evening was their TRUFFLE FRIES! These were infused with truffle oil, fried to perfection, and so, so delicious! We actually ordered more when the servings we were sharing weren't enough. I would return JUST for those. We shared a bread pudding, which was also lovely and light, topped with a scoop of creamy and not cloyingly sweet vanilla gelato. Overall, a great meal, with a friendly and relaxed vibe. I'll be back.

Stew Leonard's in Yonkers isn't just a grocery store... it's basically a field trip for adults…read more From the moment you walk in, you realize this is not your average "run in, grab milk, get out" kind of place. Nope. This is a "let me just grab one thing" that somehow turns into a full-on adventure. First stop--the candy shop . I'm not even ashamed to say it brought out my inner kid immediately. Bright colors, endless options... you go in for groceries and suddenly you're debating how many snacks is too many snacks (answer: there is no such thing ). Then you hit the hot food area . The soup bar was steaming like it had something to prove, and everything looked fresh and ready to warm your soul. Perfect for those "I don't feel like cooking today" days... which, let's be honest, is most days. Now let's talk about the pizza station --because WOW. Fresh pies, great prices, and slices that actually look like they were made with love. This isn't gas station pizza... this is "lemme grab one slice" that turns into two... maybe three The olive bar deserves its own moment. The selection is wild--in a good way. Neatly organized, tons of variety, and somehow it makes you feel classy while scooping olives into a container like you know what you're doing. Then you slide over to the butcher section ... clean, premium cuts, and everything looks like it belongs in a steakhouse. If you mess up dinner with meat like that, it's not the store's fault--it's yours The fresh cut fruit section is another win--colorful, fresh, and ready to go. Healthy choices were definitely whispering my name... I just chose not to listen for a little while longer And the dairy section? Rows on rows of fresh milk with that farm-style vibe --it almost makes you feel like you should be wearing overalls while shopping. To top it all off, I grabbed a drink and just stood there for a second taking it all in . Clean store, great layout, and an overall vibe that actually makes grocery shopping enjoyable... which is rare. I could write so much more about this store this review will turn into a novel. I will say whoever came up with the strategic idea of having no aisles, like standard grocery stores, is a hero in the super market industry. The set up doesn't allow you to miss anything in the store. If you shop, you have to travel through every section in a winding, one-way, one-road, colorful and exciting journey through the land of Oz. From the entrance to the cash registers there is no way to skip over anything. Must-see-marketing! Bottom line: Stew Leonard's turned a simple grocery run into an experience. You come in for milk and leave with snacks, pizza, olives, and somehow a whole new attitude about grocery shopping Fresh, fun, and dangerously easy to overspend--in the best way possible. 5 stars all day!

It is such a treat to stop by every few steps to see the singing and dancing avocados, bananas, chickens and so many more characters! For me, I shop the meats section. This time I stocked up on short ribs, and hubby got an aged rib eye. And also they have this produce section where they have bags of "old" veggies. I got a one of these bags today with 4 peppers and a cauliflower which was only $4! Great deal. I need to make sure I will cook it next few days. Overall love stew Leonard's, great for kids and always smells so good when walking in.

Every time I drive by this supermarket I'm always extra curious to know what it's like. Finally,…read moreafter driving by it so many times or not having enough time in between the movie theater and closing time, we got to check it out. I didn't have to go grocery shopping and I definitely wasn't prepared for what was about to come (as they're officially my new favorite supermarket). A supermarket that doesn't carry plastic water bottles and proudly has a sign that they haven't been selling plastic still bottle since 2011 in efforts to be able to reduce plastic, is just something we need to see more of. Plus, everything's organic! The cool part is you can bring your huge jugs of water and refill them in the entrance with alkaline water. There were also a ton of produce boxes available for you to shop in and save bags. I totally missed this and came super unprepared without even my own bags. Loved the weighed grain section where you can pay less for certain ones by buying them in bulk. You can even bring your own refillable containers for dish soap, body soap, dishwasher soap, Castile soap, laundry detergent, face wash, body lotion and more. If you don't have your own containers you can buy their glass ones and refill those. They even have a recycle center as soon as you walk in. You can donate eye glasses, batteries, shoes, natural cork and even compost! Their purpose is simple: to protect and restore the environment. This is my language. I LOVE this supermarket, only thing I wish it wasn't 1 hour away.
