There is more structure to the daily schedule and classroom activities. We have even had a teacher-parent conference to discuss our child's developmental progress and how they are doing in the classroom. My oldest has come home saying words, doing sign language, and singing songs that I know I hadn't taught him! I am Prep Academy has made the environment more inviting by adding colorfully painted walls and changing the layout of the rooms to allow for less distractions during class time. They have transitioned to new app that is much easier to use. You can communicate with teachers and office staff, receive pictures and videos, and make payments. Whenever something happens with your child, they are very communicative. Most importantly, my oldest son genuinely enjoys going to daycare each day. He knows his teachers by name (even if he can't full say it) and has built such a great relationship with them. My youngest also loves seeing his teacher and has even started giving her a little smile in the mornings!

The new administration has brought such positive energy and structure -- the improvements and updates they've been putting in place are the cherry on top of an already wonderful experience. The teachers and staff are absolutely amazing. I could name so many of them who care for my child as if he were their own while I'm at work. They genuinely care about each child's growth and development, and it's evident every single day. Highly recommend!

Fantastic, caring, and supportive staff…read more Over the past few years, our two children have attended Golden Book, and their professionalism and genuine care is some of the best I have ever seen in care facility. Regardless of age, the curriculum has proven to be engaging, and I know my children are more than prepared to tackle their first year of grade school. Mr. Roman, the center owner, is pro-active and leaves no doubt his priority is the well-being of the kids. Ms. Brittany is the de facto liaison who has always been there to keep the Golden Book legacy going, as well as taking time to share updates (both good and not so good) about the kids to parents, but always with a smile and infinite optimism. Ms. Tonya's VPK program speaks for itself. My son is counting in multiples, able to remember full songs, write letters and full words and small sentences, and read at a 1st grade level. She pushes her students to unlock their potential, while at the same time having fun. The grounds looked aged, but do not let that fool you. The Pre-school is very established and has been there for decades. The inside is immaculately clean, and the play area is very large allowing for all the children to play at the same time and not just in groups. It is/was sad that our time at Golden Book Pre-School has drawn to a close, but anyone that lives in the Buck Lake area, or area in and around the intersection of Capital Circle and Mahan that needs care services to strongly consider Golden Book Pre-School. They are moderately priced compared to other centers in the area, but the quality and care, at least to us, won us over year after year.

I was lucky enough to be home with my kiddo until she was two years old. We moved to Tallahassee and had no barings on childcare. Luckily, another mom on the Tallahassee breastfeeding page gave me a glowing review after several of her kids flourished at Ann's. We met with Alex for a tour and I knew immediately this would be our home. Alex was so reassuring and informative. She answered every question with evidence based research and held my hand through the whole enrollment process. I had never used childcare and I was so nervous to drop off that first day. Alex constantly kept me in the loop and sent cute little pictures and notes throughout the day. She really respects the line between loving kids through the adjustment of starting daycare, and knowing when to involve parents. I think the kids adjust much quicker than the adults, lol. Ann's Preschool lovingly walked us through everything from napping, potty training, and later learning how to read. With the exception of a movie day about once a term, the school is screen free and involves a lot of imagination play and outside exploration. There is a theme unit every quarter that ends in an open house performance for families so that kids can show off their work. We met several amazing staff members through the years and still keep up with many of them. We met Alex when she was the operating manager and watched her grow into the owner accross the years. (Sidenote: I'm training a 20 something at my job that went to Ann's when she was a baby and remembers Alex being amazing then as well. Small towns are fun! ) If you're looking for a childcare facility that will recognize your childs unique gifts and love them through the obstacles of each new growth stage, Ann's is your new home.( If they have space! There is often a wait list for enrollment)
