I have thought long and hard about posting this review, but after my experience with CTK Law Group, I do not feel I can stay silent.
For years, I had a very positive impression of CTK Law Group. I had previously hired Jonathan Chan for legal work involving me and my companies, and my experiences with him had always been excellent. In my experience, he was responsive, knowledgeable, professional, and produced very good work. I trusted him enough that I recommended CTK Law Group to others and even left positive reviews in the past.
Unfortunately, that trust was badly damaged after my case was passed to Ramond Takhsh for a breach of contract matter that required a court appearance. Mr. Chan was unavailable and recommended that I work with Mr. Takhsh. Based on my history with the firm, I trusted that recommendation.
My experience in court was deeply disappointing. Mr. Takhsh was completely unprepared for the proceeding. He arrived nearly an hour late, and the confusion started immediately when he seemed unsure about the form I needed to complete to get into court. While we were waiting for the matter to be heard, he appeared inattentive and, at points, seemed as though he was struggling to stay awake.
What concerned me most was that he asked whether I would be comfortable presenting the arguments myself if the judge did not allow him to do so. I found that extremely troubling. I hired an attorney because I needed an attorney to present my legal arguments, not because I expected to argue the case myself.
Once we were before the judge, he struggled to answer basic questions, and the overall courtroom performance was so concerning that one of my witnesses asked me, "Are you sure this guy is a lawyer?" Even more troubling, the judge reportedly asked him, "Are you an attorney?" That was an incredibly embarrassing and unsettling moment for me as a client.
The only reason I did not lose my case that day was because opposing counsel was even more incompetent and had failed to file the proper paperwork to allow his client to appear remotely and this allowed the trial to be pushed. I immediately fired Mr. Takhsh and hired Jennifer Miller to step in and clean up the mess that had been left behind.
I was also deeply disappointed by how Mr. Chan responded afterward. When I told him about what I believed was Mr. Takhsh's incredibly poor performance, Mr. Chan completely took his side, defended him, and gaslit me saying the entire situation was my fault. I could not believe it. After years of trusting CTK Law Group, I expected my concerns to be taken seriously, not dismissed.
I also found it frustrating that I was later told I should have known CTK Law Group does not handle small claims matters, even though the firm had accepted my case and I had paid them to help me.
This experience caused me real financial harm and forced me to hire new counsel. The difference with my new attorney has been dramatic. She listens, files paperwork, communicates clearly, and conducts herself in a way that gives me confidence that my case is being handled properly.
What makes this especially upsetting is that I genuinely trusted CTK Law Group. I had a good working relationship with the firm for years. I believed in them. I recommended them. That is why this experience was so disappointing.
Based on my personal experience, I can no longer recommend CTK Law Group for litigation or court-related matters. I am deeply disappointed by how this situation was handled, and I wish I had hired different counsel before ever walking into that courtroom. read more
