However, I was a little confused when I saw there was a promotion to give customers 1,000 points. However, I was surprised when I checked my account and saw about 300 points. I also received a $10 dollar giftcard. However, an HEB gift card is worth 120 points. I did email them to ask about this and was told that both equaled to that promotion. I responded by explaining how the amount of points didn't equal and never heard back. Please don't post promotions that you actually aren't going to stick to.

However, in practice they are requiring appointments made through their app and making people who show wait for people that have booked appointments online who don't show up for them. This will increase your wait time to donate by 45 minutes to 1 hour additionally each time you donate. Highly recommended going to a plasma center that values the time of their donors, this is not the place.

And they work extremely hard and despite being a place where you don't want speed. I prefer someone being careful when they are jabbing my arm with a large needle. They are typically very quick. Especially when they went to an appointment based program. This place is a plasma donation/ purchaser. And they are pretty good. Lately there has been a wait to check your vitals. And getting a bed to donate doesn't always mean you won't wait to be stuck with the needle. I hope this place goes back to what it was.

I was a new donor this past Monday (now Friday) at the West Ave location. The new donor intake…read moreprocess was a bit long as expected but not unpleasant. The gentleman who did my physical was great as were all the staff members who helped me with the intake process. The issue occurred during the donation process. I had donated at a different location consistently for about a year, but decided to try octapharma for it's convenient location. I never had issues at the other location regarding the stick. I don't have unusual veins in any way. This Monday the tech who stuck me had many issues with my vein. The machine was not receiving blood no matter how much I pumped. The tech had to move my needle around quite a bit, eventually with the help of another tech, until they decided to put the machine on "it's lowest setting". It was a long, and painful process. My arm hurt significantly from when I left the building until today. I called Donor relations on Wednesday to explain my situation and told her I had donated many times and had never had this much pain and wasn't sure if this was normal. To this she replied "yes this is normal for a first time donor"..... First time donor?? This is my reason for this review. Because I have reached out to them directly and have been brushed off and unheard. I do not recommend coming here for your own health.

I had been asymptotic since, and they made a huge deal and make me feel like a leper that day, all because I took a pack of steroids the week prior. I was not allowed to donate blood that day, and have not been back since. They used to call me to donate regularly. I called once months later and asked if I was cleared to come back in to donate, they said no. I guess there is no blood donation shortage. Very odd.
