This review is the Wilkes-Barre location. Today is my 3rd visit here to donate plasma so far I've…read morehad a good experience. The staff are super nice ladies whom you can tell love their job. You can also tell they are over worked due to the high volume of donors. Def expect to here for at least 2 hrs each time. You can read up online about sign up requirements, the pay rates per your weight etc I have attached a picture of the pay rate as well, Beware it might change. You get paid in a card you can use instantly afterwards like a master card or you can direct deposit the money to your bank card online by going to Northlane.com (thats the company that issues the card). Apart from the long waits at times, I have no complaints. Week Runs Sat to Fri (so make sure your 2 donations are between these days) Hours: Mon - Fri = 7:00am - 7:00pm Sat - Sun = 8:00am - 4:00pm Overlap of staff during lunch (12-3)- best time to come MAKE SURE TO EAT WELL AND HYDRATE BEFORE YOUR DONATIONS.

Like another reviewer. I also had a big bruise. The lady asked me if it hurt when she put the…read moreneedle in and I said yes and she walked away. The alarm sounded on my machine and she came over, hit a button and walked away. Alarm sounded again on my machine and next thing I knew a piece of paper with the words "hematoma" was dropped in my lap. I've donated plasma lots of times before successfully and this was the first time that this happened. I wanted to leave and the senior phlebotomist told me I had to get my red blood cells back. So I endured another needle stick in the other arm. Fortunately the senior phlebotomist stuck me and I felt no pain(like many times before). the stick was smooth and after that she asked me if I still wanted to leave. With no pain in the second arm, I stuck it through and finished. When I finished, another person came over and unattached me and placed gauze over the second site. After the shortest time possible, she lifts the 2z2 gauze and I see it is bleeding. She says "what do you want to do?" I'm thinking, what is this choice are you giving me? Are you saying, do I want to stay and wait till it stops bleeding or do I want to leave with it bleeding? Frustrated, I left. Came home (about 15 minute drive) to find my gauze was soaked in blood and bleeding through my compression gauze. I come back several days later (yes I came back!) I'm told that they won't draw because I had a 3 inch bruise. Well they called me after that to do a follow up (as per policy). Told to come back when it's smaller and starts to turn yellow. Took about a week (which is something that I didn't want since each donation in July was $100). Next time I did the screening process and they have a laminated paper "only experienced phlebotomist " which I take back and the senior phlebotomist draws me, no issues. Next time I come, no laminated paper. And the phlebotomist yells as she sticks me painfully, "I've got a pineapple!" Yeah not good. The senior phlebotomist readjusts the needle and all is fine. I've heard PINEAPPLE yelled before and it wasn't me. My husband wants to go back and I get nervous each time he asks. He's got huge veins and I have tiny ones. The money is great and shows up immediately on your card the second you leave. I keep thinking who else is going to pay for you to play on your phone. And for those reading the review, you'll have to determine for yourself if it's worth it for you. My husband wants to go back and I begrudgingly agree to follow. If the incentives drop below my pain to money ratio, I probably won't be back. Long story short: they need more "experienced" phlebotomists.
