We were fortunate to have discovered the Creperie du Theatre early during our three-day visit to…read morePerpignan. We were at first impressed by the array of options on the menu, including so many local ingredients. The owners have Catalan and northern France backgrounds, which so wonderfully influences their menu's many galette, crepe, and other offerings. We were also very happy with the local wine and beer available there. The owners and staff made all of our group, ranging in age from 14 to 78, feel like honored guests. As we continued exploring Perpignan, we could not help but continue to circle back to the Creperie - primarily because of the delicious food and wonderful hosts, and secondarily because the Creperie is in a peaceful, central location that is a welcome change from some of the busy streets that can be found in Perpignan. The staff was very generous with their time in visiting with us, and in helping us with maps to navigate our way around Perpignan's warren of city-center streets. We had not only great meals but made many happy memories at Creperie du Theatre. We look forward to the future day when we might return to the Creperie when we are next in the region of Barcelona or southern France. It doesn't mean that this place deserves 4 stars, and god when you finally get the crepe you've been waiting for you realize what the line was for but you do have to wait. Second, as I mentioned before, the crepes are incredible. Just plain out amazing. I got coconut and chocolate, and it was really great, served on an easy to use plate, and all very easy. The inside is actually really cool. There are all sorts of tiles with different fish on the walls of the tiny inside of the store, and a big chalkboard where all the options for what you can order are. The outside is really fun too. There are some tables outside which is fun because the shop is in a beautiful place in and of itself, and so when you sit outside you get to see the beautiful buildings and watch people go by. The store is also really near to the ocean, so it's not a long walk from one place to another. Really real, (a word which I use instead of the word authentic). It's not watered down, it's just real great food. Pretty cheap too. I mean we're not saying it's amazingly cheap, but it's not super expensive either. Pretty average pricing. Totally recommended. Great place.
