I have to walk past this Creperie on a weekly basis and have long since thought about stopping in to try it out. With two hours to kill between appointments, I decided to meet a friend here for dinner one evening. I usually try to look at menus before I visit a new restaurant, but I hadn't had the chance to do so this time, so I was not sure what the options would be. My past experience with Crepes is quite limited, and skewed more to the German Palatschinken with Salami, cheese, ham, etc. Or the sweet side with apple sauce and cinnamon or Nutella.
This little hole in the wall in Haidhausen is cute, but definitely not conducive to large parties or groups. Even on a Tuesday evening at 6:00, most of the tables were reserved. The few tables (all four of them)without a reservation sign were also mostly full, save one. I was able to sit at it and begin browsing the menu whilst waiting for my dinner companion. I was quite shocked from the prices that glared at me from my menu. Even the most simple salad of greens and cherry tomatoes was €7. The Crepes ranged €7-9 on average. The options for crepes did not really meet my tastes, with the exception of one; daily special with cheese and chorizo. While the Crepe was enough to fill me up, I still find the prices quite high for what you get. I enjoyed the Crepe, but it was nothing to write home about or bring me to go back right away. The sweet crepes would perhaps have been a better way to go. Several people around us had ordered ones with ice cream and fruit sauces. Perhaps I will go back and try one at some point, but I cannot say I was wowed by this one. read more
