After having lived in Nantes, France, I became a really big fan of galettes (buckwheat crêpes from…read morethe Brittany region of France). Galettes are almost always served as a savory crêpe, whereas what Americans know as crêpes are eaten pretty exclusively as dessert crêpes in France. Galettes are totally delicious, but they are traditionally served with very heavy fillings--think lots of cheese, ham, creamy sauces, etc. That all is delicious but not particularly healthful (for the body, at least) or great for vegetarian or lactose sensitive folks.
Now featuring: Candelma! A place to grab a fusion galette with some really delicious Indian-inspired and vegetarian options. I really enjoyed my Namaste galette, and I tried some of my friend's tofu galette, which was awesome, despite my initial hesitance. The ambiance of the restaurant itself is great--feels fresh and trendy but not over-the-top. Also, the crêpes were pretty affordable, especially given that it's in Paris AND has a cool vibe. I highly recommend Candelma for a delicious lunch or dinner in a nice setting!
