Stopped in today for my first time and was very pleasantly surprised. Ended up with a beautiful Labradorite piece for my office and smaller amethyst for my desk but I will be back for other larger pieces soon. They have a great selection of all types of crystals from small $10 pieces to extremely valuable $60k pieces. Due to the area I was worried it would be overpriced but that wasn't the case at all rather the opposite. I went to a shop in Topanga that was charging almost double for many similar stones. The staff is also very polite and helpful; our salesperson was very sweet and she answered all of my many questions which made it a very pleasant experience. It was my last day in LA before flying back to the UK, this store was worth visiting. Soon as I entered the store it felt right, the energy/vibes felt good. The store offers a variety of crystals from pocket size to museum collectables worth $$$. The ladies were incredibly nice and welcoming too which was a bonus. I ended up purchasing 3 crystals - Amethyst, Celestite & Blue Apatite. Whenever I'm back in LA, I'm going to get more crystals from this store to add to my collection, only limitation I have is my weight allowance but they do delivery to the UK which is another bonus! If you go out with a girl from LA and she wants to go to a crystal shop, might as well go to a great one that actually has some integrity. I'm not really into crystal mysticism but I can really appreciate the geological information and craftsmanship behind each and every item in this shop. Walking inside is genuinely like walking into a museum of minerals, gems, stones and crystals unlike you've ever seen. For example, their entire door handle is Amethyst. The cracks in their floor have real amethyst embedded inside. They have real mined Geode chairs that you couldn't believe exist in real life. They have some of largest rare stones I've seen in person. If you're not one to casually drop $1000s of dollars at once, there is a back area where you can see the jeweler work on pieces and stones, and a small cabinet that has miniature conventionally sized stones that are more affordable than the ones on display (ie. Typically $4-12 a stone) People who complain about the prices: A. Didn't recognize the area when walking in. B. Don't know how expensive it is to mine, transport, detail and certify rare stones. C. Didn't go to the white bins in the back for the conventionally smaller stones. Despite the standard snootiness of the area, the two folks at the counter were not only sweethearts, but extremely knowledgeable about what they're working with. I learned so much from each of them not even from just asking questions, but from them bringing out pieces and explaining each one for the fun of it while my friend was looking around. I absolutely love this place! I went in looking for rose quartz and one of the workers read my energy really well and helped me find what I need. She told me what she thought my issue was and helped me find two beautiful crystals to help with blockage. I was going to buy something more expensive, but she told me that she thought these two crystals would be more beneficial to help with my manifestations. I was there recently to purchase some moldevite, and was so impressed by the enormous variety of incredible crystals in this shop, I purchased my moldevite, and returned the next day to buy more. They have everything from everyday crystals, to very rare one-of-a-kind museum-quality pieces. I met the owner, Robin, and Cece, one of the resident gemology experts. Both could not have been warmer, more helpful, knowledgeable and hospitable. Robin showed me around the store and pointed out some of the more ususual pieces she's been collecting for 30 years. The cracks in the floor are inlaid with amethyst, and the store's door handles are impressivly huge chunks of amethyst. This store is truly one of L.A.'s most fascinating "gems". The store and the staff's energy is so positive that you'll very likely spend much more time there than you expected. If you don't visit Crystalarium for your next crystal purchase, you're doing yourself a great disservice. read more

I was on the hunt for some crystal candles and decided to check out Crystalarium. As soon as I walked in the door and saw this beautiful shop, I knew it would be expensive -- and I was right. As I said, the shop itself and all the crystals are beautiful. But as I looked at some of the prices I was taken aback. I've only been to a handful of crystal shops in my life and this one definitely seemed to charge a premium for their products (but keep in mind the neighborhood and the sheer size of the store). There's even a room in the back with a large window so you can watch the jewelers at work! Did I mention they make their own jewelry in-house and can make custom orders? The jewelry is definitely gorgeous but out of my price range (hello, 4-figure jewelry). Definitely an investment but it's great quality stuff. I was assuming nobody would help me when I walked in and definitely felt out of place, but the women working were welcoming and helpful. There weren't many candles left in stock but they did recommend a rose quartz tea light candle holder that I LOVE. It was a gift for a friend and they even wrapped it perfectly, free of charge. Huge props to the Bodhi Tree for pointing me in the direction of this fabulous gem shop when I called today burbling about selenite. I'd been on the hunt for the perfect gift for someone who's not so easy to shop for, and when I'd finally settled on the idea of finding these crystal candleholders that are thought to be carriers of light and clarity associated with the crown chakra, I figured I'd have to search the city high and low to track them down, but lo and behold, they were right up the street! If you ever had a rock collection as a kid, stepping foot in here will take you back. The place is a floor to ceiling collection of some amazing specimens, many of which were bigger than I am and priced upwards of $20k. Lucky for me, they had just the selenite (gypsum) candleholders I was looking for, in not one, but two sizes and two colors -- the clear, opalescent ones you usually find, and others in varying shades of rose and orange depending on minerality -- all surprisingly reasonably priced. I was extremely dismayed at the service I recieved here. I came in to look at two pillars made of malachite, which were absolutely stunning. They were having cheese & crackers, and a 20% off sale... no one offered me refreshments, however. I wasn't hungry... but a gesture would've been nice. I was dressed rather slovenly since I had just finished Pilates next door, and right from the beginning I was treated poorly by a sales clerk with long brown hair, smoky eyes, and pale skin. She was visibly annoyed at having to show the items to me, and rolled her eyes more than once. I eventually flat out left because I wouldn't dare purchase from such a demeaning person, however much I did want them... I have an antique malachite mantle clock which would look perfect flanked by those pillars. I believe in good old fashioned service... and if I want an item, I won't buy it if that sales clerk treats me poorly. Period. It was my first and last time inside. read more

The Crystalarium is a high-end crystal shop that's fun to treat yourself at from time to time. 80% of the store is out of my price range - there are small $10-and-under fragments in the back, while most other specimens are $300+ without much in that sweet spot between - but there are ways to shop smart here. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and will not only help you identify minerals, but since a lot of the price tags are obscured by the glass, they can help you locate something in your budget. If you enjoy simply window shopping here and dreaming of owning some of these gems, keep an eye glued to their social media. I recently took advantage of a holiday weekend sale they were promoting, and picked up some gorgeous hemimorphite and gelena-laden fluorite that I normally would have not bought at their normal prices. Beautiful store and gorgeous crystals! I've gone in here before but since they were about to close I didn't get to truly look around. I came here today and looked at everything and being myself, I couldn't resist petting all the gorgeous crystals! We were greeted as soon as we came in and were left to go and look and touch, which was really appreciated! I did think that it was expensive, but I mean, OBVIOUSLY, have you seen the quality of the crystals in here? They're all high quality and most of the stones you see here are rare and some are quite large too! I think that if you are looking to find something affordable, you could find it. They had some amethyst polished points for $14 and they were gorgeous. Rose quartz from $14 - $27, so it's not like all the stones here are $100 and up. I did end up purchasing a gorgeous and really powerful/strong energy Tibetan quartz for $27 and I love it! So in conclusion, come here for the energy and to admire gorgeous crystals.
