Best station for crystal palace park access so great when they have events on there, very short walk to the park and to the infamous Crystal Palace triangle where all the bars and restaurants are.
Recently gone through a bit of a refurbishment, it has kept some of its historic decor but added much needed things like a lift down the many stairs an good waiting rooms. The ticket hall is roomy and bright with clear details of the train schedule.
Out side the station is a taxi cab office which is useful for those late nights home!
Good service to a variety of London stations (London Bridge, Victoria) and also overground to the East End of London. read more
This station had more steps than I have had to overcome outside of a lift problem at Russell Square or Belsize Park! Seemed to me more than should be necessary. And they lead you out to a street that warns you of high phone theft and a little park where Superbrew drinkers gather.
Handy transport link on the East London line though! read more
I have missed my train several times since the powers that be have put barriers in. Really annoying because the huge and stunning ticket hall is right there, but no I have to squeeze through the single gate, go down two flights of narrow stairs, up another then down another. There is no reason not to open the ticket hall in busy times, just put an oyster reader on it! thats all it needs! read more
