I attended a benefit in this space a few months ago and wow it is gorgeous. The open floor plan,…read morethe exposed rafters, the beautiful bar, the throwback corner door access. And I loved all the artwork on the walls. The space does not appear to have regular hours so viewings are by appointment only. Seriously with the revitalization of OCH/Dryades corridor, it's great to see such lovely historic buildings come back into their own.

I had the opportunity to check out this space thanks to Alvin and Re because this is where the Big…read moreClass Luau was held. I want to start by saying how excited I am for the development of the entire Oretha Castle Haley corridor. I think in a year it is going to be one of the hottest areas in the city. It took me a few minutes to actually find this place at first. My good ol' GPS just led me to the 1400 block of OCH and left me to find the actual building on my own. Just a note: it's on a corner and I took a picture of the door, so that you can be on the lookout. The venue itself is lovely. It's a wide open space with a nice bar and plenty of seating. There is gorgeous art on the wall and I like that there is a lot of space to move around. Big selling point: the air conditioning here works like a champ. A lot of times you get into these old buildings, and the ac can't keep up with the space, but that was not the case here. Plenty of windows let in the light during the day, which I am always a fan of; I hate going to dark event spaces during the day and feeling like I'm in a dungeon. There is a stage area where students for Big Class read poems. I presume that other performances take place on the stage as well. There are even some sofas for comfy seating as you enjoy whatever is happening on stage or just mingling with friends. I didn't get to explore it, but there's an upstairs area as well. It should be noted that the building is located on an extremely well lit block, so if you attend an event here at night you should feel pretty safe. I look forward to attending more events here and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more fundraisers that may be held here.

I had my daughter graduation party here. The place was spacious and beautiful, but my guest and…read morefamily thought the menu did not offer enough food and the serving size plates were too small. I had a problem with the large sandwich tray being passed around once and never brought back out again, the bar was not constantly being filled, they actually had my guest wait to eat because my daughter was running 2 hours late to her own party, so they really didn't have to put out much food since the guest had to wait to eat. The food was picked up and taken to the back the last hour and the staff took all of it home even most of the large graduation cake. I asked the manager why wasn't I informed they were the food was so called thrown out, she said she asked my daughter who was already intoxicated when she got to her party did she want the food and she said no. Of course she didn't: 1. She was drunk. 2. She didn't have any place to bring all the left overs because we were from out of town and staying at a hotel and 3. She did not pay a dime for any of it.... The contract was with her Mom. So yes, I give this place 2 stars for the size and beauty, but if you go with this venue just make sure before they pack of your food and cake, they leave it out front where you can see it and not bring everything to the back for staff to carry out the back door...

I made a deposit to use this venue for a retirement party in Feb 2020, prior to COVID 19. All I ask is the difference between my deposit and the minimum, but they won't even do that. Will never do business with them again and will advise all friends and associates to do the same.
