I want to post a review RE: maintenance and customer service problems at this location for RV'ers. I started renting an outdoor spot for my travel trailer in about 2017. After a few years of renting only, they opened a shop to do repairs with Allen and Tammy the previous owners. They built the business and then sold to the current owner. I recall Mark the mechanic was hired, then an office manager and another office employee.
I respect the mechanic, he seemed to do a good job. My only complaint is he was sour grapes regarding his previous employer, Camping World. I men who discusses this with customers? The issue I have is with Dennis, the Office Manager. I feel for Dennis because he is concerned for a family member going through health issues. But I believe that has creeped into his job in a negative way. Dennis does not educate his customers, as many in the business world, do. Problems started when I asked to list what work was done on his invoicing. That was never honored. An invoice is emailed with the cost of service-what service, who knows. Is that by design? If a brake job on a trailer is done, how would you prove a problem if something went wrong? I would think after 5+ years of asking, this would have been honored. Today, still no, never identifies what service was performed.
As far as actual maintenance work I list these maintenance issue and the responses by the Manager:
$335 charge (7/2022) for a roof leak that was never located nor fixed. I was told Mark would do this for no charge, as it was a small area- and got a call from Dennis after the work was done stating this was a $335 charge!
$275 charge (6/2022) for greasing bearings and check brakes. I asked for a photo of brake material, (similar to most all mechanic shops) Dennis replied "I don't do that"! I asked because I want to also "see" what material is left and if it's getting close to get them replaced.
$410 charge (7/2023) for a replacement fresh water fill hose. I was still dealing with the roof leak in item #1 a full year later, so I was surprised I was hearing water in the same stud space but hearing swishing and leaking from the bottom. I asked again for a photo of the area, as I could not believe it was a different problem and I was mistreated as a customer over the phone by Dennis the Manager. I'm a senior and have never been treated like this as a customer. In all 50 years of my working life. I ended up finding the roof leak myself, the gutter screws that attached near the awning, allowed water to enter the wall above the door. Caulk and the screw replacement was done and this worked! I did what they couldn't find!
$100 charge (10/2023) for washing the RV for fall, based on the mechanic recommendation. When I arrived a week later I noticed one area by the curb side front door and wall, severe streaking, as if the soap was allowed to dry on it. I asked for them to detail that area, it didn't look right. Again I was mistreated via a phone call, by Dennis the Manager, expressing the problem.
In May of 2024, when I returned from out of town to pick up my RV, Dennis refused to do any more repair work for me, which put me in a spot as I had a upcoming trip and he refused to assist, even one time. I asked to speak to the owner. Dennis refused to give me their contact information! Who is running this business?!
Needless to say, after his poor customer relations and the way I was treated on the phone, by a unstable person, not only do I take my repair work elsewhere, but I ended up moving my storage needs after 8+ years, because of this individual. Yes, I pay a little more and have to find another service dealer, but I won't have to put up with being mistreated as a customer. Maybe the employees have gotten too comfortable with no oversight. Avoid getting service done here, in my view. Without proper supervision I believe they feel they can say and do whatever they want and explain it away with what's going on in the individuals life.
I hope the best for his family, he just needs to learn about customer service and to educate his customers rather than yell at them when they ask to explain a process or try to lower the overall bill by coming up with some optional alternatives. read more
