I have been seeing her for…read more3 1/2 years and have multiple orthopedic issues, including osteoarthritis in multiple joints that left me with chronic pain. Dr. Scheier has always offered me excellent care and medical advice has never been hesitant to refer me to a specialist when necessary. Despite me seeing several specialists for one issue or another, Dr. Scheier always follows up on all of my treatments, surgeries, and medications. She listens to her patients and is always quick to respond to emails. As a patient, I prefer to have medical options discussed with me and I like that she takes a more consultative approach to patient care, involving the patient, rather than a top-down approach that some doctors take where they direct/order you to do something without explaining why. I never feel rushed during appointments and there always seems to be adequate time to discuss whatever is concerning me. This practice is also in a beautiful, modern, brand new building that houses many other medical providers as well as medical imaging.

I and I don't mean she was just disinterested or not friendly, but she was actively hostile. It was a few years back, and I am still shocked that a person can work in any profession with a personality like that. And it was not just one time, my mother brought her to two appointments so we switched her doctor and I wish we had done it sooner.

After several visits over a few years, my blood pressure was high. I was told that it's not a problem. My eye doctor from another health system found a problem related to high blood pressure and had to write them a note to treat this condition. They will often you for tests across the street at Bryn Mawr Hospital because they are affiliated and it's much more efficient to have the tests done there, and yet, 2 weeks later, they don't have the results in their system when you return for a follow up. They order a urine test and leave you to roam around the hall with your pee cup looking for who to give it to. They tell you that you need a pneumonia vaccine and they can do it while you are there. They forget to have someone do it. When you complain about all of the problems they send in the office manager who told me that because she was on leave, she also has not knowledge of any problems. And if that wasn't enough of a boondoggle, I requested a Medical Record Release form so that I can go to another provider. She handed me the form. I sent it in to the address on the form. The post office returned it because that company doesn't exist anymore. Their phone number is also defunked. I had to do a deep dive into the web to find the new company where the records are kept. FIND ANOTHER PROVIDER, QUICK!!!!!

I recently moved to the Main Line area and in need of a doctor I turned to yelp. After reading the…read moreonly review I thought I would give her a try. I loved her and her staff! When I first walked in I was greeted by her receptionist who gave me a couple laughs and handed me some paperwork to fill out. After 15 minutes of completing half the paperwork one of the nurses came out and offered to help me with it and took me back in to one of the rooms to enter it in to a computer. She then welcomed me to the area and we talked about my medical history. When Dr. Hargrove game in she was completely wonderful! She was welcoming and really took her time with everything. I could tell that she really cared about my well being and health. She's very knowledgeable and precise. I liked how she wasn't concerned about taking too many tests, just so she could cover all the bases. Also, she didn't undermine my conditions even if there wasn't much evidence on the first test. She looks into the issue until she finds something to fix it. Another plus is that she does pap smears in her office! Over all, she's made my transition to the Main Line easier because I really loved my doctor in Chicago who I had been with for the past 11 years. I'm looking forward to having Dr. Hargrove as my new doctor. UPDATE!: While I still feel that Dr. Hargrove is a wonderful and knowledgeable doctor, her receptionist is very rude. I find myself fearing to ask questions about appointments or even making them because of her invasive questions. I don't think the questions would bother me so much if she was at least a nurse. Lately, I've been trying to figure out if I would rather stay with a doctor that I am very comfortable with and feel like I'm in good hands or if I should go find a new doctor with a less invasive and more polite receptionist. I will restate this... Dr. Hargrove is a perfect doctor, but honestly her receptionist is hurting her practice. This is why I reduced the review from 5 stars to 4.

This practice charges extra big bucks if you need them on weekends or need to talk them on the phone for something new that's wrong with you. In my opinion, it's all about the money. I guess I was looking a bit confused because there are many medical areas located within the facility. I needed an MRI so of course some people don't like the noise or the time it takes to complete. The staff in the radiology area made sure I was as comfortable as can be. They even have headsets & ask which channel on Pandora you would like to hear!!! Now I probably should have chosen classical music because I was supposed to remain still & not sing & dance. Lol. I'm proud of myself because they didn't have to repeat a thing. Lol. They were very professional & assisted me with any needs I may have had. I think this will be my spot for any future radiology/testing procedures in the future!!!
