Both Alice, and Hailey are so professional and so cool. And I am extremely fussy. Living in Angel for the last 5 years I went to almost all (if not all!) beauty salons on Upper Street etc. Always back to Nu-U. They are very professional again that's so important, really detailed and experienced, and you can be sure treatments are adjusted to your personal needs. Place is always spotless. Definitely recommended.

Only £5, yes £5 to have your eyebrows waxed, plucked or threaded (I think). Now I've been all over the place to have my brows done, including Shavata (the brow goddess in Harrods, £35, who sells various eyebrow shaping kit in every M&S) and although she is unquestionably good, this place runs a close second and for a lot less dosh! You won't come out feeling pampered but you will come out with enough cash to splash in the bars of Clapham to do enough eyebrow raising at the boys. If the rating was on quality of work I'd give it a 5 star, it is just the setting that lets it down.

I called them up on a whim on a Saturday morning to see if they had an hour massage slot free, and they said to come in at 1pm. So I was already chuffed that I could get an appointment so last minute. It's £30 for an hour and you can have either a swedish or thai massage. They also do all the other usual beauty services - all very cheap. They have a state of the art steam room and sauna, and the massage rooms themselves are really nice...but that's where the glamour ends. You have to be prepared for a bit of a rough and ready approach - the changing room (if you can call it that) is an old cupboard with some lockers in it and is big enough for one person, the towels are a bit grey and not so white anymore, the shower is also a converted cupboard, and take your own flip flops if you have issues with feet hygiene. But for £30 you're not going to expect the Sanctuary are you? So I got over my initial nose curling and just enjoyed my time there for what it was - a cheap and very good massage. I had a thai massage - it was the most intense hour of my life and the best massage I have ever had. She beat the crap out my knots and I walked out with limbs flaying about they were so loose. Intense, fantastic, relaxing...and for the price, I'm going back every month!
