My husband and I stayed at the Crown Point Condos for 4 nights. This is an older property, but it met our needs just the same. Our unit had a master bedroom with an on suite bathroom and a king sized bed and an additional bedroom with two twin beds and another bathroom in the hall and a full kitchen. The unit was clean and in working order. The temperature outside fell to 21 degrees, but we were nice and warm inside. The views from the balcony were spectacular! Wish they would remove the carpets, but other than that, it is a nice to vacation with family. read more

Greeted upon arrival by the bugs in room. Later that day, a mouse in the kitchen. Maintenance brought sticky traps to set behind the stove and refrigerator. Next evening sitting on the couch watching tv. A mouse crawled on my back and my husband's arm. When called about mice the second time and wanted to switch rooms, waited until 12:30am for answering service to get in touch with someone before leaving for a hotel room. Didn't receive a return call until 5:30am. Answering service said they called multiple people and no one was answering. Would NOT reimburse us for our hotel stay. Stated it was because we didn't book with them. Doesn't matter who we booked with, it is the properties fault we had to leave for an hotel room, 1st nice, 2nd didn't answer phone. Offered us two more days. No thanks!! While at the kitchen sink on checkout day, a mouse comes out from behind the stove and very calmly goes right back under. This mouse is in the unit we were moved to at the opposite end of the first unit we were given. Water pressure in both showers is awful. Have to use your hand to help get your whole body wet. It doesn't even shoot out of the shower head it just drops out. Soft spots in floor of the second unit. First unit tilted so much it messed with my equilibrium. I forgot to get a picture of the front door that showed a piece of trim trying to cover the slope - about a 2" slope under the door. If I let the people above us shower first, we didn't wait 5 minutes for hot water. Tv in master bedroom doesn't get channels. Ask for maintenance. We were told not all bedrooms receive service. There are DVDs you can checkout after connecting a dvd player if you'd like. Strip beds back to leave, notice in photo the stains on mattress pad. Bar missing in bathtub, but holes are there. Unit above leaks. Repair is noticeable. However, continues to leak forming new hole. Must prop open bathroom doors. No a/c vent in bathrooms. One bathroom didn't have exhaust vent. One bathroom didn't have working outlets. Sliding door doesn't lock, but there is a scrap piece of wood allowing the door to only open 3 inches. This is a ground floor unit. Other than that, OLD and not maintained. Trim separating from walls. Smells musty. Furniture has body oil stains from wear. Trash was collecting anywhere between units and walkways. Rotted boards. Needs paint. The plastic key cards that have the unit number and door code printed on them are reused and had what appeared to be coffee or tea stains. What a shame. The location is great and the views are amazing. Could be a nice place to stay. Someone would have to invest a ton of money to get it there. read more

The condos are dated ( think 1970). Repairs or updating seems to be held to ugly color painting, a lot of caulking and a ' fix it on the cheap' attitude. The amenities we were looking forward to needed repairs for safety (tennis courts had crumbling concrete, basketball hoop broken, hot tub was boarded over). We booked through VRBO which had a hot tub in their website and of course nice pictures of everything else. The front end staff were very nice but had no authority to deal with any of my issues. They didn't even have a way to contact head office or the management company. When I contacted VRBO they said they sent a letter to the company and I would for sure be compensated for my issues. The day manager(?) Rebecca never did contact me even when I gave her my name and phone number ( they already had it on file for the room as well). I did get her email and the DM's name from a other staff member the next day. I waited 3 days for some type of communication but ended up emailing them. I got a reply quickly that said because I booked through a third party they couldn't do anything for me. SERIOUSLY? You got money from VRBO so a little compensation would have been nice. It's sad that they don't put the needed repairs and professional maintenance needed on this property because it is a great location with awesome views. read more

Though the view is spectacular, pool is indoor and heated it is not located near much. If you turn your room key through the slot be prepared to receive a $10.00 charge for missing key. One must strip beds and towels so staff does not have to. The room was not very clean with trash still in the bathroom and bedroom can. Outside lights were bothersome when sleeping. Construction was occurring though did not interfere with our stay. Will NOT ever return to this "resort" simply because room key was returned and a charge was made for missing key. read more

Crown Point Resort Ruidoso, NM We had a very outdated 3-bedroom condo which had a musty smell when entering. We only used the main floor bedroom and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We had no hot water for 2.5 out of our 3 day stay. When we did get hot water, we had to run the water for several minutes before it became hot and then the temperature fluctuated from hot to scalding to warm to VERY hot. Staff were unresponsive, never answered phone calls nor did they return messages when we were dealing with our hot water issues, but the maintenance worker did show up unannounced. The desk staff were not friendly, showed no empathy and were not apologetic to our hot water situation. The (lobby) staff were not friendly other than the person who checked us in and Ansel, the maintenance worker. The shower walls and tub had long hairs on them. The countertops had a lot of knife cut marks and chips, and the kitchen faucet sprayer kept hanging down and wouldn't stay in place. The kitchen cabinets were damaged, and one drawer wouldn't open because the cabinet pull was too big and hit an adjacent drawer. The cookware was the nonstick kind instead of the stainless steel that doesn't have cancer causing PFAS. The parking lot streetlight by our condo entrance had a burned-out bulb which was a safety hazard while trying walk on the uneven brick parking lot, go up & down stairs and use the pathway to the condo entrance in the dark. The main floor toilet tank kept refilling intermittently during the night and sounded like it was flushing which kept waking us up. This issue caused a delay in flushing the toilet and we had to hold the flusher longer so that the toilet would flush. The lamp shades on the main level were either broken, had holes, or were deteriorating. The front security screen had about a 2" gap at the bottom that let bugs in. The main balcony sliding screen had a large vertical rip that let bugs in. There were no TV in the bedrooms. If guests wanted to use the fireplace they had to purchase fake fire logs from the front desk. Our unit's exterior siding was deteriorating in places and some of the siding on the building next to us was either severely warped or had fallen on the ground. The best part of our stay was the quiet location and view of the pine trees. read more

It's ok. Needs to come out of the 80s though. Unfriendly staff checking us in. Refused to be welcoming. This Texan is not used to Unfriendly people. The condos are ok. They see a lot of use, and they are workable. AC works very well. Kitchen stocked ok. Nice deck but it wasn't cleaned before we got here as there was obvious spills on table and floor. Don't know about proximity to anything yet except the Downs are very close. read more

Would give less than 1 star Unit was filthy, numerous outlets were non working, two cabinet doors fell off when we opened them, upstairs shower was either scalding or frigid with no other option. Definitely concerning if a child was taking a shower and it went from cold to scalding with them under the flow. Talked to manager and was told unit had flooded with water flowing downstairs and they had not been able to get everything on the punch list completed. We checked in on Friday and when complained about the filthy conditions were told they only had housekeepers on Fridays, so they could not do anything. Rusty towel rings in bathrooms, water facet in kitchen had a trickle of water due to calcification but was replaced when mentioned. read more

Staff very friendly and helpful. Check in easy and quick. Service efficient when repair requested. Staff highly recommended. Condo had lovely views of the forest, mountains, and lights of Ruidoso from both balconies. Lots of room in condo, but NO AC, and no in-condo washer/dryers. They do have laundry facilities on site. Condo has 2 floors, bedrooms are downstairs; kitchen, dining, and living area, upstairs. Furniture In living areas comfortable and updated. Kitchen is small and the utensils and cookware are sparse. But since we were on vacation, we didn't cook much. Very affordable with our timeshare trade. We paid $200 for the week. Pool is large, with hot whirlpool area. Could use some updating, but nice and deep (9ft at one end), and great for swimming laps. Would rate condo and amenities 3.5 stars. Condo Location 4 stars. Views 5 stars. Well worth the visit. The Lincoln County area has lots of history and many, many things to see and do. We haven't met a grouchy New Mexican yet. EVERYONE is so friendly and helpful. Great Place for families. 4 stars for Ruidoso / Lincoln County in the summer time! read more

We were there in February. Good location. Beautiful City. We stayed in a 3 bedroom 2 bath. Unit was clean.The 2 bedrooms (master) & 1 bath were downstairs. Downstairs was ALWAYS freezing! Unit had 2 sliding doors (one up & one down). Neither door closed correctly. We asked office for blankets and were told there were no extras. Never got hot water in the shower. Shower curtains did not hang low enough so water was always on the floor. We mentioned this to the office who said they knew about it and we should put towels on the floor. No washer/dryer in the unit. Only 2 washers & dryers on property and 1 did not work the entire time we were there. Hot tub out of order the full week. Our 2 sons in their 20's used the ping pong table a couple of times but were constantly monitored by front desk woman. Not sure why. Basically this is not a friendly place. Be sure to bring everything you might need because the office provides no support. read more

As always I love coming to Crownpoint and staying at our timeshare. We have been coming two times a year since 1980 or 81. They are always clean and the people at the front desk are very nice and helpful I've never had a problem there and most of my friends and family that come up also enjoy it. read more

Why is this listed as closed? We've owned here since 1984, and I'm writing this from our unit. Our unit seems very up-to-date, with newer Vizio flat screen TV's, updated fixtures, etc, and it's always clean and comfortable. But never closed. I don't get that. The status needs to be fixed, quickly. read more

This is a charitable review. Many probably would give it a 2 ...or possibly a 1. The staff here is great. Our room is clean, and the king size bed is quite comfortable. WiFi is easy to use, and the speed and signal strength is excellent. However, this place is very tired with a lot of deferred maintenance. It is in the pines and overlooks the downtown. This is a great plus. The TV in the master bedroom is an OLD one with a picture tube!!! Long time since I've seen a museum piece like this. I must say the other TV is current. One of the showers has a lot cracked tile. The shower head in the other bathroom essentially was unusable, but they quickly replaced it upon our request. Too bad, because if some TLC was applied to the property it could be great. read more

Great place to stay if ever in the area. Depending on the condo you stay in you do get a great view of downtown and the mountains or you view is obstructed and the view is nothing to say wow about, it does truly depend on the condo side you stay on. The staff is very friendly and in my experience quick to address issues you may have. The condos are a little outdated depending on your definition of what outdated is, but they have scheduled updates to the condos. The one we stayed in had 3 bedrooms, comfortable beds, bathrooms, dining, kitchen and living area with ample seating and amenities. Unless you are used to top luxury class type of living and lifestyle I see no issues with these condos. They have events throughout out the week for guests to meet and greet with food if you'd like to do that as well . We have seen wildlife along the roads and a bear as well, due to the food it came to find. Overall the experience was great. Would and will return. read more

We spent a week in a 3 bedroom condo with a great view of Ruidoso using our RCI points. The condo was very clean with updated furniture and very comfortable beds and nice linens. A couple of maintenance issues (non-working toaster and a light fixture) were quickly addressed and fixed. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The kitchen could use some new cookware, and we were told that was in the process. All in all we had a great time in this comfortable unit (105) and will return again. But probably only in Spring and Fall as there is no A/C. read more

We stayed Sep 13, 14 and 15 and it was terrible! This year we got a condo in the middle section with an upstairs condo (were at bottom) and the noise factor was absolutely horrific! We had a busy street in front and behind us, there is no AC which means you have to have windows open and that did not help with noise! Add noise from people upstairs and you have a vacation stay totally gone wrong! Parking situation was ridiculous, was hard to get in and out due to narrow street with cars parked on both sides of street and a guy knocking on the door because he could not get out so we had to go park away from condo to accommodate him! Pillows smelled like sweat, and the place had a bad smell, when we saw clothes left behind in a drawer by previous renters we called front desk and asked to be moved to a condo NOT in the center and we would pay whatever the cost they refused! Never again! Next year we will rent somewhere else! read more
