I was here on a Saturday afternoon as part of a wedding party, thus I can't review this pub too accurately. However, I can certainly say that I enjoyed the couple of hours I spent here: with a relatively small interior packed with the kind of knick-knacks wall pubs tend to collect, along with a sizable and pleasant enough beer garden, the place is welcoming with a homely feel (even if packed out by wedding guests).
Best of all, though, is the on-site micro "Halfpenny Brewery". The Thames Tickler served here was obviously well-cared for, with a nice bitterness. Another 4 or so of their brews was on tap, ranging from an amber ale to a stout.
I can't really comment on the food, and this isn't the place for a cocktail, but it's definitely an nice pub, especially for the real-ale drinker. read more
