You would think that a credit Union associated with the local power and security system companies would excel in customer service. Not the case. I had been depositing money for years into a savings account. My first time in person in their lobby would be my last as a customer or in credit Union speak " a member." I'm sure the employee who was rude, entitled and wrong has been working their forever Here is a great lesson in customer service, don't judge a book by its cover. I might have been in shorts and sandals, but I know banking regulations. News flash-telling someone something is not "allowed" is a lot different than something that a company policy doesn't support.
Instead of being argumentative and focused on being right isn't customer service. There is a big vast world of banking and finance outside this tellers micro-universe. Perhaps the credit union should offer continuing education for these old relics minding the window? At least teach them customer service 101 in that members come before their fragile ego. In fairness, this was one person but it cost them a closed account which was shut down on the spot and future business which would have eventually included moving additional assets as I prepare to retire and even a bridge loan as we plan to build a dream house. My family has been in the area since 1935. It should be noted that this is not the norm in customer service and mentality in the area.
