I have been blessed enough to be able to send my son to Crouthers Academy since he was 6 weeks old. I am not able to work from home or be a stay at home mom, therefore, I knew I had to find a daycare that would be able to provide my son with love, stimulation, and people that truly care for him and his well being. There are so many horror stories about daycares that don't care or try to make kids grow up too fast and not be kids. Not to mention the ones that are neglectful and only in it for the money. After a lot of research by my husband and I, we decided that Crouthers Academy was the place. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made. From the moment we met Leslie, we knew that she loved children and truly put her heart and soul into Crouthers Academy. She takes pride in the people that she hires and requires them to be the best. My son is almost two and is developing leaps and bounds - social, verbal, non-verbal, art, music, dance, playing outside, and so much more! One of the things I enjoy most is that they send me photos of him doing his activities throughout the day. It is hard not being with him and watching him each and every moment, but like so many others, we have to work to provide for our families. Crouthers allows me to feel like I am a part of his day even when I'm not there. My son has been enrolled at Crouther's Academy for two years and I couldn't imagine sending him anywhere else. I stayed at home with my son for the first 9 months and was extremely nervous sending him to a daycare when I returned back to work. My husband and I visited several places in the Chesterfield area and fell in love with Crouther's Academy as soon as we walked in the door. Leslie and the entire staff are so welcoming. Leslie made the transition back to work easier by sending me pictures of my son throughout the week. Those little pictures helped me see that my son was well cared for and having fun at Crouther's. Even after two year, I still get pictures from Leslie! Another thing I love about Crouther's Academy is that it is a smaller daycare. Everyone knows one another. Even teachers from other classrooms know my son by name and say good-bye when I pick him up in the afternoon. This has made changing classrooms an extremely easy transition for my son. From the minute you arrive you instantly know and feel this is not a business atmosphere but is a true, genuine, nurturing "home away from home" you feel comfortable leaving your kid(s) for jam-packed days full of play, education and all-out fun! The school is impeccably clean, full of indoor/outdoor activities and by far, offer more than any other childcare facility we toured in the St. Louis area! We had the pleasure of having Crouthers Academy care for our two children for the two years of living in the Chesterfield area. At the beginning of this year, we moved to Illinois and one thing is for sure, there is no other place like it! Crouthers is a true family, where each and everyone of their employees, all the way up through management, cared deeply for our kids. The center is spacious, impeccably clean and filled with stimulating toys and art supplies. The food they serve was always healthy and high quality. Fantastic playground. The summer program they designed for the kids is unbeatable! My son had so much fun with the water play events and special guest visitors like the Reptile Man, the juggler, and the firefighters. My son Jackson has attended Crouthers Academy since March and absolutely LOVES it! As an educator myself; it was important for me to find a program that combines strong pre-academics with a loving environment that will help him grow socially as well. He loves his teachers as well as the office staff that play an active role in making certain that every student at Crouthers has exactly what they need. As a staff they do an amazing job of making certain that not only the children are taken care of, but that the parents are as well. This place is exceptional. My first child had a few different care providers before we were finally able to get him in (wait list) to Crouthers Academy at 9 months. He has been attending for about 2 years now and I have nothing but good things to say about the place. What's crazy is that it's not even the most expensive daycare in the area. Leslie could probably raise prices and still have people on wait lists, but she doesn't. She really tries to be fair to her customers, providing great care at a reasonable price. My second child will begin attending soon and, despite him being only 2 months old, I have no reservations leaving him in their care. I'm excited for him to go. read more

There is a warmth and sense of family the second you walk in the door. It feels as if we're taking our child to a member of our families home everyday, which makes walking out the door each morning as easy on my wife and I as we could ever hope.
