Crosspointe Biblical Counseling Center not only saved my life, but my girls', my father's, my mother's, and possibly countless others. I was referred to Crosspointe by a family member and I finally reluctantly went. I had been doing everything right in life yet I was still miserable. I had a college degree and a well paying job. I had two beautiful girls and was married, but everything was falling apart. I had tried everything. I read every marriage, relationship or self help book; nothing was working. I originally attended Crosspointe and saw Dr Clark who really listened to me. He identified exactly what I was struggling with, he was honest with me and that was what I needed to hear. I didn't need someone to placate lies just to make me feel good for a few days while I wallow in my own pit which would just continue to bring me suffering. That's not truly helping me at all. Dr. Clark told me the truth. Dr. Clark was very clear with me that this was going to be a difficult journey but if I trusted him he could lead me out of my hell. This was the first time in my life that I ever had a man to understand me or treat me with compassion while I was expressing feelings from years of hurt and disappointment. For the first time in my life I wasn't told to suck it up and get over it. Dr. Clark walked with me through some very deep valleys in my heart, he saw the real sinner in me and never condemned nor, shamed me. Dr. Clark only showed me compassion and acceptance even when I struggled with the sin I saw in my own heart. During my time at Crosspointe my father began battling cancer. We knew his prognosis was terminal and his time frame was only 6 mths to a year. Dr. Clark helped me to walk the path of the walk of being there with my father as his body weakened. Because of Crosspointe pointing me to the Cross I was able to have the courage to ask my dad the hard questions and to be there with him while he struggled on his own journey. After a childhood of wondering how precious I was to my dad because I heard him say one thing but then act another. I learned how God felt about me through Crosspointe, that gave me the courage to live life and do so many things including pursue my own dad's heart without even knowing for sure how he really felt about me. But the last few months of his life I sat in the yard chair with in the garage, because that's what southern folks do, and he held my hand as his eyes watered and said, "I know you love me, you've become my best friend. Thank you, I love you." This has changed everything about me. It has changed how I raise my children. It has changed every relationship I have and how I relate to ever person all the time more and more. Crosspointe and Dr. Clark because of God and Jesus have change my life and many others. Now as with all things, relationships are not always easy and neither was counseling. I was referred to Crosspointe during a time of crisis in my life. I had already seen three other therapists, two whom I had regular appointments with for months with no progress whatsoever in my situation nor my outlook.
