Just as a disclaimer... I am the Pastor at Fellowship…read more I am reviewing us because of a negative experience someone had at one of our worship services in October of 2015. I first want to say that we regret that this person had this negative experience, but we also value any feedback we receive when it comes to the experience of visitors. With that said, sometimes we utilize topical sermon series to deal with cultural issues/challenges and how the Word of God applies to them, such as the sermon this gentlemen listened to. We don't always deal with topical subjects, though. For 3 months, for example, we journeyed through the book of Philippians, taking it nearly verse by verse, really digging in. We strive to create an atmosphere where people can worship freely and hear the Word of God as the highest authority in their lives, while at the same time become do-ers of the Word, not just hearers only. TO THE REVIEWER with the negative experience... if you are still in Spring Hill, we would love to extend a friendly welcome to you to attend Fellowship again and give us another try. Again, we value feedback and second chances. We would love for you to give us feedback, and we would also love another opportunity so that you could have a fuller view of who we are and what we do.

While the church did have an average entertainment value (8 folks of average talent displaying music on stage for the listening audience,) the church offered little other value in my experience. The church pastors and entertainers were more engrossed in delivering a performance as opposed to delivery of any real message of substance. If you are looking for a place where you will not feel uneasy, can leave with no guilt and will not be given any thought-provoking knowledge this is the place for you though. However, if you don't want to be challenged by a message or don't want to feel uneasy you could just as easily feel this "nothingness" from the comfort of your recliner or from a bar stool at Applebee's and you wouldn't be bothered by an offering plate. This church should grow it's congregation quickly since in a world of no accountability and no thirst for knowledge people should flock to this church of "nothingness" in droves.

I have been visiting churches in the area and this week was trying out from a list I got from…read moremissionary Spencer Smith, an Independent Baptist ministry out of Kentucky (check out his YouTube channel and website, he compiled a nationwide list of IB/AKJV churches for his readership). I was looking for one with Wednesday prayer or bible study as well as the usual Sunday service. Found Cornerstone, which off of Mariner, not far from 50. Convenient if you are in the Northcliffe/Mariner area also. Turn on Tara Road right off of Mariner. I forgot to take pictures. I'll try to do that if I'm able to attend Sunday. Parking: Upon arriving, I was happy to find plenty of parking and a handicapped spot up front. Atmosphere: midsize church, friendly, family oriented, nice to see people of all ages modestly dressed. I was greeted by not only a few of the gentlemen that I presume might be ushers or deacons, or just friendly parishioners. I sat in the back by a nice lady who helped fill me in afterwards as to what all the church offers. I felt very welcomed. Music: it was Wednesday night (7 pm service), so we sang a hymn from the hymnal. Nice. Sermons: Pastor Rossiter gave a good teaching out of Romans on the gift of mercy. I forgot to bring notepaper and pen, so I followed along in the Bible. I found it very helpful and biblically-based for sure. I stayed long enough to meet and talk to some of the folks there and left by nine. Lost track of time. A very nice time and looking forward to visiting Sunday. Will most likely update the review at that time.
