After experiencing Superfit more, I unfortunately have to lower my review…read more First off, in the just over 1.5 years that I've been a member here, I've needed to replace my water bottle three times now because it was broken. Of course stupidly, you're only allowed to use the poorly designed superfit bottles, so you have to pay for a new one if yours breaks. At this point, I just don't even bring my water bottle most of the time because it's so fragile, it's not even worth dealing with it. The free weights section is not great. The barbell selection is really bad -- there are not enough barbells, nor enough weights to put on them. On top of that, many pieces of (what i consider to be) basic equipment are not available, such as resistance bands or medicine balls. I get that this isn't the most luxurious gym ever, but it would be nice to have a little variety since the free weight section is so lacking. Bonus: their iPhone app sucks. It has been broken for months and they have yet to fix it, even after i wrote in a few months back to tell them about it and they acknowledged that they were aware of the problem. For some people this obviously doesn't matter, but for me it does. When all is said and done, the price here is amazing, but I don't plan on renewing my contract for next year...

Until March I paid every single month despite the clubs being closed because they claim "that´s the law" and since I´m not german I kind of have to accept it. Now in June I´m being charged again, even though I have a confirmation that everything was cancelled in March. I wrote multiple times to the customer service but the only thing I get is a pre-made texts and a lot of bs not related to my situation. I dont recomend this scam to anybody but if you dont speak native german, this place is not for you because they will trap you in the exist.

I just wanted to take the time to mention an amazing experience I had at Holme's Place…read moreGendarmenmarkt with a wonderful Zumba instructor named Astrid who brought such positivity and great light to our work out. She had an amazing rotation system, so that we could all see her at some point during the class .Her energy was really great and she kept us engaged. The music was fantastic, and she kept us completely locked into what she was doing and with an amazing energy throughout . We all just had a fantastic time. I didn't know what to expect, as I go to many different gyms, but I was recommended to go to this one because I got word about such a sensational teacher that I took a chance and I have to say that was thoroughly impressed. Everyone in the class was wonderful and I will definitely will be going back again. Her name is Astrid I believe and I must say she is one of the best instructors I have seen in sometime. I will be going back to "Holmes Place Gendarmenmarkt "specifically for this class and I do believe that it's important to note when someone really puts their full self into the work and I witnessed that in this class. I thoroughly enjoyed it and if you haven't gone, you should and I will renew my membership to Holmes place based on quality of this amazing instructor. Please keep up the good work.

Als ich drin war, konnte ich lauter Partikel im Wasser schwimmen sehen. Teilweise zogen richtig große Hautfetzen an den Scheinwerfern, die ins Wasser leuchten, vorbei. I heard the brand couple time, But didn't really sign up until recently. My partner signed up first…read moreand he told me that the gym was quite good one, so I went three and had a look. Usually if the person wants, he/she could have a pre tour before they actually become a member of the gym. I skipped that, because I know my own routine and just wanted to have a look of the gym. I think the gym is pretty nice, they got many different training equipments for cardio or muscle gaining, no need worried to many people and too less equipment s to use. There is a room just for the muscle trainer, full of heavy equipments, which some I haven't seen in my previous fitness studio. I did try most of them out by now. I think most of them quite effective and fun to work with. Probably not a place for beginner though. If you just start to do training, probably better just stay with the equipment in the main room first. Wait until you body is ready for the next level of challenge. I think many different types of equipment there as well, they are all useful tool. People can do full body training here, not just gaining muscle but lost weight, I like to hang out this area as well. And there is a room for lady, they called it lady room. I'm not sure what they do there and I don't know anyone. I guess probably some cardio training sort of thing. And there is the course room at the corner. For this even for a member will need to pay extra. Probably they offer a different membership for this, if you really need this. I'm got the regular one. I think this is quite a nice gym with a great sign up fee. They also offer a starter package for the member. Well, although the person has to pay extra of it, it is still nice thing to have. In the gym also got a drinks station that basically that where you can get water or water with other flavors, snack machine right at the back. The gym is really considered, it got bathroom as well. There is not WIFI yet for the member to use it, but I think that won't be a problem, since most people will just focus on training here. I like it, this is a great place for training. And as a member, also allowed to go to the other FitX fitness studio no matter where, it doesn't have to be the same place, really convenient!

I cannot say the same about their customer service via phone. I went there to subscribe for the monthly plan with my corporate benefits, since the contract was in german, the lady made a mistake to subscribe me for a year contract. They blocked my account because of this, I called to investigate, they explained in a cold way (like I don't give a damn, you signed up for this). Alles gut, I paid the full year, 4 days have passed and they haven't reactivated my account. Called yesterday and the girl on the phone was like (it has only been x days, call on friday if you don't hear from us) YOU have my money already, move the process. Fitx as a gym it's ok, hopefully as an expat that don't speak German, you don't have to deal with all this. PD: Be very cautious about the contract that you are signing

This was my first spin class EVER, and I'm so happy I got to do it with Ride Berlin!…read more I wasn't sure what to expect, but the staff immediately put me at ease. The front desk members were really friendly and accommodating, and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. We were offered a towel and chilled bottle of water to get started, and they also helped us set up our bikes for the first time. The actual class, led by Malin (seriously the most energetic fitness instructor I've ever had), got my heart pumping right away. Malin was great at pushing us to work harder and her enthusiasm made the class fly by. Most of the classes here are taught in German (obviously), but Malin's class is taught in English. Afterwards, a staff member was waiting with chilled eucalyptus towels, which were really refreshing after sweating so much. They also offer a fully-stocked shower room, with plenty of fluffy towels, high-quality shampoo and conditioner, hairspray, makeup remover, deodorant, lotion, and hair dryers. Amazing staff, awesome workout, great amenities. I would definitely come back here for a ride next time in Berlin!

Your bike settings and weights are recorded in their system so everything is always set up when you show up to the studio. Bottles of water and shoes are included with each class. The water station even has bubbly (oh Europe :-)). Every workout is topped off with a scented moist towel. Facilities (lockers, showers, etc.) are top notch. They have done everything here to make sure that all you have to do is show up in your workout clothes. Pricing is expensive for Berlin but very reasonable compared to any studio in the US. They also have a number of different packages to enable anyone to ride. I can not say enough about how great the team and owners are here. Some of their instructions will differ from flywheel and soulcycle. Really not that important. You'll still walk out needing a shower. :-)

As a new American ex-pat in Berlin who was born and raised in Los Angeles, I am ecstatic to find…read moreYoga 4 All Mankind in my neighborhood of Prenzlauer Berg. Touted as a studio that teaches "LA-style yoga" in English, Yoga4All appeals to me in two ways. First, I am able to have yoga practices where I can focus on form, breathing, and meditation. If I had to take yoga classes in German, I would be in the unfortunate situation of frantically deciphering German and looking around trying to figure out which poses I should be doing. Sort of defeats the purpose of yoga, right? In addition, I get a bit of hope that I can still keep some parts of the beloved lifestyle I left behind when my husband's career brought us to Berlin. This staves away the homesickness, at least for the hour of yoga class at Yoga4All. I find that the classes here are quite superior to the classes I've taken in LA as well as SF, where I spent the last seven years of my life. Here's why: - Yoga4All's classes are small and clearly focused on the practice of yoga rather than on the practice of profit-making. LA and SF yoga studios tend to charge $20USD a pop only to pack you in like sardines where you have other people's feet in your face. So far, I've taken a number of classes at Yoga4All and I don't think there's ever been more than eight people in a class. This translate to a lot of individualized attention and the guidance to take your practice to the next level. - Every class, regardless of who the instructor is, ends with a short but relaxing neck massage during Shavasana. Yes, please! Some parting tips: - The classes are all Vinyasa-style, but the range from gentle in the morning to more vigorous in the evenings. Be prepared to sweat if you attend an evening class. - The classes are €10 for morning and lunchtime classes, while they are €15 for evening classes. Lunchtime classes tend to be the smallest, aka best bang for your buck (or Euro). - This studio also offers weekly mat Pilates classes and occasional aerial yoga classes. I haven't tried either yet, but I will update this review once I get the chance. Thank you to Yoga4All for bringing a little piece of home to Berlin and for improving upon it!
