Despite the trepidation I signed up for a membership. I soon found out through scaling, modifications and showing up regardless of the WOD programming, the movements I thought were impossible soon became the possible. I was encouraged to write down my times/scores and that gave me an incredible visual as far as my fitness progress went - I could see the results! After 3 1/2 years, I really couldn't imagine myself anywhere else. I love the variety and the challenge that CrossFit provides and CrossFit Fargo has an incredible community. I'm so appreciative to Jess and Jeremy for all that they do to foster a great environment and to all the other Coaches at CFF whose primary goal is to help us become better. I have a genuine feeling that I missed out on something if I wasn't able to go to class - I never thought I would say that about any workout. I've visited other CrossFit boxes when I have traveled and quickly realized how spoiled I am with the facility and equipment that we have - and it is always getting better. If you are hesitant about jumping right into a regular CrossFit class, the boot camps and fitness classes are an excellent way to ease into it. Just try it, you won't regret it.

Nice place to workout but very bad customer service desk experiences. We had a temporary membership…read morefor a trial class and later joined membership through the customer service desk, but they created a new record rather than deleting old temporary ones or merging them. Then they gave us membership cards with wrong spelling of our names and would not correct them when we asked. I tried to sign up for a class and pay the fee for members but was overcharged despite what was being advertised as the price on the flyers and course catalog. We went back and spoke with a different person to credit us the overcharge. But he would not credit us the amount nor would he look into what the issue was (why we were charged the different amount). He just said the price is different than advertised. Jeff said he would take down the flyers advertising the "wrong" price but he never did. Since we were not reimbursed the overpayment we opted instead to just drop the class and get the whole fee reimbursed. We were told in the future we could do it online because classes were listed there, but when we checked, our membership record did not have any of our classes listed. I assume they were on the other "records" with our names in the system instead. Later when signing our child up for a different class, yet another lady at the front desk was rude. She said the class is in a few minutes so we might not be able to get in if it's no longer listed on the computer. I had already confirmed with the instructor that there was room in the class and that we could in fact sign up that day and had written confirmation. However, Beth said it does not matter what the instructor says. I have no idea what the point of her saying that was because she did in fact accept my payment for the class registration. So there should never have been an issue. She also said we have four records in the system but she did not offer to merge them, delete them or help in any way with what we are supposed to do about that. It would be helpful to train customer service how to be polite with customers and also to problem solve and correct things that don't seem right (wrong charges or duplicate records) even if it means taking the extra time to go to their supervisors to get help rather than ignore issues that customers are having.

I just wanted to see if there was any way Family Wellness could facilitate and they just said NO. No alternative or suggestion. I am on a very tight fixed income and I do not need a full membership. I just want to swim. Why do they not offer a discounted membership for people with disabling health issues? It's not as if I would be able to utilize all the GYM offers. I don't want free. I just want to pay for the services people like me can use. I don't need treadmills, weights, or an elliptical. Doesn't seem too unreasonable to me.

On August 11th, a classmate of my younger son invited him to play at the YMCA. So, despite heavy rain, we went to this YMCA. However, when we tried to swipe my membership card for entry, we were informed that my card had expired last month and were asked to leave and reapply for membership. Seeing my child's disappointed expression, I asked the staff if it's possible to renew the membership now since it's set up for automatic deductions. They could deduct the payment now. The staff coldly replied: "No!" They demanded that we go home and reapply by filling out forms. I attempted to negotiate, saying: "We came a long way in the rain, can I fill the form now and could you please update my membership card now?" The response remained indifferent: "No! You must fill out a new application. It's our policy.." Can I read your policy? I asked. No! I don't have it...... I asked, "Could you please have your manager check if it's possible to update it now?" The reply was, "I am the manager," and proudly showed me his name tag: Max! I'm not sure if this is the YMCA's policy or discrimination against me as an Asian? Membership expiration wasn't communicated, and the renewal process is so troublesome! Being treated this way as a YMCA member, humiliated in front of my child, has left me heartbroken!
