This gym does NOT rank among those. ;) This is where my wife and I keep our local membership. It's clean, well-maintained, and huge. The staff is friendly. They have a nice large indoor running track. They do classes from activities to healthy cooking. Conventional stuff like weight machines, stationary bikes and treadmills, to newer concepts like heavy ropes and functional movement workouts. Pool. Sauna. Towels and shower gel dispensers in the locker rooms. Racquetball and basketball courts. Personal trainers. And again, it's CLEAN and doesn't smell weird. We looked around for a while to find "our" gym. This was the best choice in the local area by far. It's worth the drive.

I just want to swim. Why do they not offer a discounted membership for people with disabling health issues? It's not as if I would be able to utilize all the GYM offers. I don't want free. I just want to pay for the services people like me can use. I don't need treadmills, weights, or an elliptical. Doesn't seem too unreasonable to me.

On August 11th, a classmate of my younger son invited him to play at the YMCA. So, despite heavy rain, we went to this YMCA. However, when we tried to swipe my membership card for entry, we were informed that my card had expired last month and were asked to leave and reapply for membership. Seeing my child's disappointed expression, I asked the staff if it's possible to renew the membership now since it's set up for automatic deductions. They could deduct the payment now. The staff coldly replied: "No!" They demanded that we go home and reapply by filling out forms. I attempted to negotiate, saying: "We came a long way in the rain, can I fill the form now and could you please update my membership card now?" The response remained indifferent: "No! You must fill out a new application. It's our policy.." Can I read your policy? I asked. No! I don't have it...... I asked, "Could you please have your manager check if it's possible to update it now?" The reply was, "I am the manager," and proudly showed me his name tag: Max! I'm not sure if this is the YMCA's policy or discrimination against me as an Asian? Membership expiration wasn't communicated, and the renewal process is so troublesome! Being treated this way as a YMCA member, humiliated in front of my child, has left me heartbroken!

There is a free 2 hour drop-in center to bring the kids as I work our or just get some work done in the lobby. The locker rooms (family one) could use some updating and repairs. I've never been to a Crunch, and was surprised by the equipment / facility. For the cost they had everything some of the expensive gyms have, and a dope atmosphere. Because of this experience I might consider doubling down on my current membership, and adding Crunch for when I'm in the North Metro MN area, or Fargo again since it's more than an affordable option. I called a few weeks later and was told that I have to send a snail mail letter to cancel my membership if I could not be there face-to-face. I did this. Come to find out it was never canceled. I did exactly what I was asked to do. They told me tough. That there was no evidence that any of this ever happened and that they did not care. I asked to speak to a district manager and was gaslit. Apparently I need to go to a website and send some special message to speak to the DM. seems real convenient for them anyway you look at it. They are thieves they don't work in good faith. And the place was always dirty. Honestly, seems like a scam. You have to send a letter to cancel, and then they claim they never got it and keep charging you. And until you figure it out and then they go "sorry oh well."

The only problems I've had were with their booking and front desk policies. I tried to book last minute through the app, but it wouldn't let me, and when I called, no one answered. When I showed up, the front desk employee rolled her eyes and said, "I guess we can get you in." Another time, I got stuck behind an accident and called to let them know I'd be late. They said it was fine, but when I arrived, they wouldn't let me in and still charged me a fee. The inconsistency and poor customer service really put a damper on my experience

The staff at the desk were welcoming and greeted us upon arrival and acknowledged us when we were leaving. It's one of the smaller locations I've been to and it's a little dated (needs some maintenance) but we had a great workout and did not have to wait for any equipment. Onward to more locations!

I did 6 months of personal training with Jenny Trucke and she was great. Very professional, knew her stuff, and she pushed me hard. Anytime fitness is always clean, and has 4 private bathrooms with showers - 2 each for men and women. I like that over community locker rooms.
