The director and staff here are great, my wife and I have twin daughters and had such a hard time finding decent childcare that could care for them. Cross Road was the right fit for us. We feel that our children are safe with them and I can give no higher praise than that. read more

The director here is a danger to children's well-being and safety. At first, we thought this center would be adequate for our child, and turned into a nightmare which would end up being a hinderance to proper care and development with a wildly out of touch, unprofessional and downright nasty director. My little one started at 5 months old. The center utilizes ProCare to communicate about daily happenings. It was not utilized properly whatsoever. There would be massive gaps in communication regarding nap time, feeding time and general issues daily. Opening teachers did not communicate with their closers and they never had info for pickup about how their day was and could not answer basic questions such as "what time did they eat, how many bottles, how long did they nap, etc" They could never give us a proper timeline of their day despite multiple complaints. Our little one did have some basic struggles for sure because of this, it's an adjustment to their tiny brains, but it was nothing outside the boundaries of normal and healthy development. On the surface, their teachers seemed to have adored him and the feeling was mutual. Recently, I walked in for drop off, and while still holding my child I was pulled aside and +informed in front of all the other parents that our care would be terminated due to our child's "incessant crying" I was told that "they cry all the time", and it is "detrimental to the staff and other children." I was then told by the director that staff members resigned because of our child! The school never mentioned this to us once beforehand besides the occasional "They had a rough day" or "They only slept 40 mins do you have any tips?" etc. There was no discussion to correct the problem via the official process laid out in their 15-year-old poorly xeroxed handbook. It immediately smelled fishy. Former staff members confirmed with us that they did not resign because of our child but because of the director and how she treats her staff, causing them anxiety. How quaint. It was clear that Cross road has serious problems. Therefore, the director's solution to her own insolvency, staffing and ratio issues beyond defaming former employees was to throw a perfectly normal child under the bus because she was too weak of an individual to take responsibility for herself and work through her problem. She took the easiest way out and blamed it on non-existent parenting issues she made up in her thick head instead of looking in the mirror and being an adult. When asked to confirm her reasoning for expulsion in writing multiple times, she refused beyond the "At-will terminate anywhere anytime" coward's way out. She is obviously aware of a hole she can't dig out of knowing we are furthering this issue beyond her control and influence. The state licensing unit was very interested in what we had to tell them. We kept every receipt, like when our child was forced to pose for a photo with a disparaging sign taped to their chest that bullied them because of their difficulty napping. They did this to an infant and thought it was funny. It makes me sick that caretakers would do that to a child instead of addressing the problem like a professional. We played along so they would send the photo to us to have on the record. Licensing took that photo very seriously. Teachers are actively contributing to the problem by not speaking up for themselves and allowing such a vile person to use children as leverage for her own massive shortcomings. It's inherently inappropriate, unprofessional, and unbecoming of childcare workers. I understand childcare is difficult to find in our area, but please don't take yours here unless you want them used and taken advantage of in a building where the director has lost control and drunk with power. My child attended this center for 4.5 months. He was 4months old when he started in the infant room. Their handbook says that each child is a precious gift from God, and they strive to show children the His love and forgiveness. Unfortunately, this would be the farthest thing from the experience he had. Despite the Center having an "open-door policy" in their handbook, parents were not allowed in classrooms to see their children, even at drop off and pick up. There were lapses in communication about my son's diapering, feeds, and naps during the day. Often, what was written down in the app they use to log daily activities did not match what we were told at pick up. One day, my son, who was 6 months at the time, was struggling to nap. His teachers took a photo of him crying with an index card taped to his stomach. It read: "No nap (Child's name)". The caption in the app was "(Child's name)'s mugshot". He needed to be comforted, not bullied. We reached out to the Director to try to remedy issues like missing items and lack of communication. Things would improve for a while and then go back to the same. It was frustrating and made us feel powerless as parents, since we couldn't get him in at any other centers. The Director frequently asked why my son couldn't come to work with me, and once made disparaging comments about my breastmilk making him sick, which was not the case at all. I have never had a positive interaction with her. Despite these problems, we were told every day that he had a good day, other than sometimes struggling to nap, or general fussiness, which is to be expected at this age. Multiple times, we asked how he was adjusting, and were told he was happy, silly, snuggly, a joy to be around. This matches our experience at home. The center has a policy against providing over-the-counter or prescription medication to children, so we missed work for mild illnesses that were easily managed by Tylenol/Motrin. However, when he was teething last week, neither of us could miss more work, so we had no choice but to send him in. I had to ask the Director to let me to stop by during the day to give him Motrin and Tylenol as recommended by our pediatrician. She allowed me inside, although not in his classroom. He was carried out to me in the lobby. I did notice that there didn't seem to be another teacher in the infant room from what I could see through the door, so I suspect they were out of ratio, putting every child in there at risk. Two days later our care was terminated with two weeks' notice. We were told that our son had been inconsolably crying during the day. This is unlike him, and it broke me to hear. I was also shocked - why hadn't we been told sooner? When I called the Director to follow up, she said that staff have quit because of my son. This shocked me; I expressed that it something should have been communicated sooner. She insisted it was, but I have gone through every piece of communication I have from CRCC, and nothing about inconsolable tears or his position being in jeopardy was ever brought up. She has refused to write any reasons for his termination down, or give me contact information for the higher-ups at the Center. I was also told by former staff that they left because of the Director, not my baby. I emailed the Director regarding this. She first said that NH is an at-will state and she can kick a child out at any time without a reason, then backpedaled on her prior statements about losing staff because of my child. I again asked for further clarification and contact information of the owner or Board of Directors. She has ignored my email since then, so I am left thinking that she lied. Based on what staff have said and what I observed, I think the Director is abusive and creating a toxic workplace, resulting in her being understaffed. She would rather blame a child than own up to the problems she has created due to poor management skills. I do not think children are safe at this Center. read more

Great place. Children are well taken care of. The teachers are playful and not overly strict. They have a good teacher to student ratio. All so it's very safe and they do well to make sure parents are not able to interact with children other than their own. read more

Too many serious problems piling up; need to find a better place ASAP. Kids left unattended, wet cloths not changed for hours, food portions are ridiculous, not to mention food quality! Good teachers leaving to be replaced by inexperienced noobies withough any communications to parents, stress and simply lack of care from "management", never to be found. read more

Teachers care great but director sucks! Staff is not given enough training. Director is NEVER there. Does not communicate with parents. I walked in once day and SUPRISE my son had a new teacher. Reason I was not told earlier that the other was not coming back: we did not want to make a big deal out of it!!!!! read more

My child loved the teachers. Director is cruel and hard to talk to. They are often out of milk, which is listed on their menu. Gave the kids water instead - I paid for milk! Terribly tiny portions given out at meal time - my child constantly complained of hunger. Terrible situations. I asked for the owner 2 or 3 times - she is NEVER present. First I would like to say my child was happy there for a time, until I the past 6-8 months. Her teachers are gone, no reason was given as to why! The lack to communication that the director has with parents is horrible, she is never there! Experienced teachers are replaced with inexperienced who knows type of people! The food portions are small and of poor quality. There were also concerns for my child's safety. I would highly recommend bringing your children to another place for child care! This place is not worth your money, and be aware of safety issues! read more

Don't send your children here. The management is horrendous. They are awful to deal with. I can not say enough bad things about how this place is run. There never seems to be enough teachers, and they are constantly going through staff member. You never know who is going to be working there on a given day. (and there is no heads up when your child's teacher quits!) They provide snacks and lunches that are all carbs and chips and crackers. They boast healthy choices- but fruits and veggies are extremely rare. If you have a problem, and would like to talk to the director- GOOD LUCK. She is no where to be found and never gets back to you. She hides. They would rather have you leave than have an adult conversation with you about your child's safety and well-being.
