Was told this Pub had won The Pub of the Year 2010, so was expecting alot. Location is hard to find for a start. Front Bar has little seating area. Was seated in the restaurant next to the kitchen doors which was too annoying, as the door swang open whilst staff came in and out all the time. Bouncing laminate flooring did not help either whilst the owner enjoyed stomping accross all night in his cow boy boots. Then we noticed boxes, old cutlery and debris under the furniture around the room. Not much care to detail had been given. The room needs a good refurb.
Then the food came, after a good wait. Nothing to grumble about here. Slightly pricey for the portions recieved. Veg had been heated in the microwave though. But was enjoyable.
Beverage was reasonable, Tried a guiness to see if they drew a shamrock on the head of the glass but unfortunately not. Found the pipe cleaner made my second pint of Ale slightly cloudy.
Nice Country Pub, Nice food but to be honest I would not jump up to visit again. read more
