This was my second time buying from this company, but unfortunately was a much different experience from my first time.
The first time, I had 100% germination rate and the plants were gorgeous, and the quality of the flower was excellent.
This time, not so much.
I ordered my seeds in March, 2022 and started germinating in early April. Despite following all of the recommended germination instructions, not one of the seeds germinated.
I called the company and was informed that they can only exchange for the same seeds I'd already purchased, so I agreed to try more.
Again, not one seed germinated.
I called the company back, this time hoping to try different seeds. The customer service representative advised me that they can only replace with the same seeds, or they can give you 50% off if you want to try a different strain of seed. I was also advised that the strain that I kept having problems with was causing issues for others who had ordered it, but was told that this was now supposed to be a be batch of those seeds and they seemed better quality.
Again, even though I had been told that those seeds were an issue for others, I was only able to get the same seeds. So, I tried to germinate a third time. Once again, not one seed germinated.
I called the company again, because it is now mid-June and far too late to start seeds for a successful season of growth.
This time, I was determined to either get different seeds or a refund, because now I was frustrated.
The CSR who answered me this time advised that they can't replace the seeds any more, but could offer me a 50% discount if I wanted to buy some other strain. I told them that this was an unacceptable resolution, as they claim to have a guaranteed 80% germination rate and now, after 0% germination of 15 seeds, I am no longer interested in their products and I refuse to spend more money after no success with their product whatsoever.
I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. I was told that the manager, Tyson, would be in meetings for another 2 or 3 hours and to try to call back then or on Monday (I called on a Friday around 3pm). Instead of trying to guess when Tyson would be finished his meeting, I asked if he could call me when he was free. The CSR said he would email Tyson, but that he doesn't spend much time on calls because they're very busy right now.
Tyson did not call me back. I tried calling him a couple of days later, and the CSR told me he was in meetings all day (again), but sent him another message and said he'd call me back at "his earliest convenience".
I have since filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The BBB contacted Crop King Seeds to try to resolve the issue (my desired outcome was a full refund). Crop King Seeds did not reply to the BBB at all.
I've been in customer service for many years myself, and in my experience, this is unacceptable customer service. I paid full price for a product with and 80% germination guarantee and had 0% success after 3 attempts and 15 seeds. Instead of trying to fix the problem of having a bad batch of seeds, they just kept replacing the defective seeds with more of the same defective seeds. Until they wouldn't even do that. And then to be told that the manager is too busy to try to resolve this in an acceptable way by calling me back was the straw that broke the camels back for me. And then they ignored a complaint from the Better Business Bureau.
If you are lucky enough to get good seeds that will germinate on your first attempt, you'll likely be satisfied with Crop King Seeds. But if, like me, you pay full price for defective seeds, do not expect to have your problem resolved in any satisfactory way. You may as well just send them the money and not get an actual product, because that is what happened to me. They have my money and I have nothing.
