This place is really cool, as soon as you step in the door. It's well decorated, with white walls covered by fake foliage (sounds corny, but it works), nice flooring, touchscreens throughout, and tables with either marijuana or marijuana accessories for sale. I was really impressed how the different strains were in containers with not only a microscope on the lid, but also a plastic piece you could pull off to smell the bud. I placed an order for a pre-rolled joint and waited with serious anticipation as it arrived through a pressure tube system near the register. As it turns out, it was a great strain and I was pleased with the overall experience! Glad I went in! I'll check them out the next time I'm in Vancouver! read more

Great location but the prices here are crazy expensive. EXPENSIVE! I guess they mark up for the area. Since I was traveling, I didn't have much of a choice. Very dry, bush weed has seeds and is way too overpriced. Also, buying a quarter oz., they gave me two half quarter oz. containers and just doubled the price. For the past few months I've been trying new dispensary's out, spoke with many many different bud tenders in search of a particular flower that has a particular terpene profile but, have had absolutely no luck, most people either didn't know what I was talking about or just wasn't sure which products they could offer but, that was until I came to City Cannabis. Here I met a super friendly, kind and professional bud tender by the name of Angelina. As soon as I spoke with her it was as if she knew EXACTLY what I was looking for and her recommendations couldn't have been better!!! DO NOT BUY HERE Customer service is "great" in that there is a lot of staff on the floor, always someone ringing out, and the shop looks nice. But that's where it stops; they are taking advantage of customers with marketing and visual appeal. The whole reason you are there is for the product. Which you'd think be good with all the effort put into the store... when in actuality they don't care about what they sell you. I purchased what was recommended but it's only sold in larger amounts. Well if that's what you recommend ... go to use the Tweed and it's so dry it turns to dust. Apparently this was packaged in OCT 2018!! I expect product to be FRESH when paying such prices. Pretty good dispensary for quality of product. The thing that bothers me about this place is the pricing. They have some strains in here for $18/gram! I've never seen a strain go for that much. Also the .5gram pre rolls are very pricey as well. I think it's just an example of a company taking advantage of legalization and using the government as an excuse to charge high prices. You can go one of the many other dispensary's around Van and get same quality for way lower price. read more

Their customer service and procedures need drastic improvement. Pros: * Good quality flower, albeit VERY DRY Cons: * Expensive ($15-17 per gram) * Wasteful packaging * Poor customer service. They messed up my order, I paid for 3 grams but they only gave me 1. When I tried to return to get what they owed me (TWICE), the people working there (including the store manager) did not have the authority to help me. I've had to escalate it to the General Manager who has not yet responded to me. * Poor procedures. They refresh their order numbers daily and do not keep a record of previous orders or receipts. The store looks great and the staff are nice but watch out for their prices. I went to get a pack of gummies and found that their prices had a a 70% mark up. The typical markup for stores that are not the provincial stores is 22 to 25%. 70% markup wow I will never shop at this store especially when you can get the same product 2 blocks away at a newly opened store for 50% less. read more

This was my first time in Vancouver so I have nothing to compare City Cannabis with. That being said, I have been to many dispensaries in a lot of other places. I prefer medical only stores to recreational stores. They are very different. Judging by the reviews of this place, I'd say that people are holding rec places up to med standards. It's not the same thing. The products are very different, it seems more... mass produced. And the big thing is the prices are also very different. In California we pay a 20% tax at recreational places and mostly no tax for medical only. The quality of the products are not as good and cost a lot more. So, with that in mind, I'd give City cannabis 5 stars because they offer a wide variety and are knowledgeable in what they are selling. I didn't feel like the prices here were particularly high, based on what I'm used to. I also come to recreational places with very low expectations because of my past experiences. It's not like there is a choice for travelers. So, I try to embrace what is offered to me and I was not disappointed. There were so many different types of cannabis, that I didn't know where to start. I was immediately offered help and guidance based on what I was looking for. I have a hard time finding strains that are low thc, because the majority are looking for the highest amount of thc. That's fine for some people but I don't want to be surgically removed from my couch every night. I was able to find what I wanted without compromise. There may be better places in Vancouver, but I was happy with City Cannabis. I got what I came for and they were open on Halloween night! read more

It's a beautiful store w/ lots of friendly. Problem is they sell cannabis not service.and the bigger problem is they have bc govt weed stock. This place is god awful and for all intents and purposes, a scam for tourists. I walked in and the guy at the door immediately got in my face and aggressively said, "GIVE ME YOUR ID"(I'm 38 years old for reference). They had roughly 15~ staff members in a tiny retail space that will constantly hound you trying to "help". There are so many staff members working that it is honestly hard to even walk around the store unimpeded. The weed is dog shit tier compared to literally any other dispensary anywhere and I've traveled extensively in all of the legal states. Not only is the weed absolutely terrible and very old, but the prices are the most ridiculous I have ever seen. Some of the bud was $80 per 3.5 grams which is insane. I paid better prices in Manhattan in 2010 at the height of the insane weed prices in NY, that's how ridiculous it is. It's hard to not see this as a place that exists only to take advantage of people that don't know any better. It's predatory. read more
