Sharing the experience that my daughter recently had: She was so excited to try this hairstylist for a Crochet hairstyle, only to be sorely disappointed after having spent much money and and time for a sloppy outcome. Having previously had her first Crochet hairstyle done this summer so lovely with precision care & attention on internship in Silver Spring MD, by a stylist at a pretty reasonable price, with a great finish that she was loved; my daughter could not believe how awful this experience and crochet turnout ended up! She sent me video of her finished hair style as she sat in her car in the parking lot. Then called to tell me how it sorely missed her expectations. I tried to to comfort her. But after she sent me pictures and more video the next morning; I had to agree spending $135 and leaving the stylist with damp hair she should contact the stylist Ashley and inform her that the style did not look anything as she hoped, that there were gaps and visible scalp and the invisible knots were showing all over! The location was pretty easy to find, but unexpected. It isn't an individual booth set up that you see sometimes. Her space is in an office building compound (not a complaint, just an observation). When I arrived, Ashley greeted me with a big smile and was very welcoming. She spaces out her appointments so that you can walk right in and into her chair (I LOVE THAT). She worked quickly but thoroughly and I was quite pleased with the outcome. I've had crochet before but I used a new type of hair (curlkalon) so I was nervous, but it came out great. Overall, I am not satisfied with the outcome of my service. Ashley is professional, but the work I received is not. After hearing so many great reviews and seeing a lot of photos, I decided I'd give her a try. I went to Ashley on September 12th to get a hairstyle I'd seen on Youtube installed. The first time I went, the hairstyle had not set properly after having the curling rods removed. I didn't mess with my hair too much because she told me to fluff it out when it dried the next day. Now looking back, I do feel that the crochet job was rushed because my hair was wet like box braids when I left when it could have been blow-dried​ while the rods were still installed. I let Ashley know that I didn't like the turnout and it wasn't like the photo, so she told me I could come back to get it fixed Friday. When I went back she installed my curling rods so I could sleep in them overnight​ to be sure the hairstyle set. In addition, I let her know that I felt the top was too thin, as the day prior, I could clearly see the knots and braids. She added some hair yet it still wasn't enough. On Saturday I took my hair down, and I just hated it. The hairstyle is completely overpriced and I definitely wasted my money. The knots are showing in the back because there's not enough hair to cover them, the top of my hair is bulky like a wig, and the hairstyle doesn't look like I went to a hairstylist, rather a practicing friend. I am so embarrassed to have friends pull me to the side and let me know my hair was messed up in the back and just isn't flattering. To add insult, I work in a place where presentation is important so to have my manager let me know I needed to improve my new hairdo is frustrating after wasting so much time and money. I'm super displeased after spending $70 on hair and $135 on an install to turn around and have it taken out in less than a week. First, she's awesome just for taking me on NYE. I used her online booking to schedule my Saturday appointment for 8am. She was ready to get started on me as soon as I arrived. Getting a stylist to start on time is hard enough, BUT finding one with a nice attitude is even more difficult. Ashley was sweet, punctual, AND she did a great job on my hair (cut and fullness were perfect)....triple threat :-) Will definitely return to her when I'm ready for more crochet braids, two thumbs up in my book. read more

I got a water wave crochet bob from Ashley and it turned out really nice. Thankfully, she is not heavy handed and did not pull my edges. She checked with me throughout the braiding to make sure it was not too tight. I'm very tender headed, so I was very relieved. My style turned out nicely. I just had the worst experience I have every had in over 20 years with a stylist. I had an appointment with Ashley for which I misread the time. I was already in transit to her and was driving. I called a half an hour BEFORE my appointment to explain. Ashley told me I couldn't re-schedule and would have to pay the balance for the service as a "no-show". I was driving and absorbing what she just said. She yelled, "Hello!?". I said, "Hello", I"m here just thinking and driving." I asked her to please don't be rude. I'm already upset about my mistake and driving with my son in the car. The end of the conversation was unprofessional and she hung up on me. I have NEVER had an experience like this. This was not my first appointment with Ashley. The irony is I am known for being on time (early) to work and appointments. However, LIFE, does happen. How can someone have a business and be rude when a client calls ahead to explain a lateness or re-schedule? I understand losing the deposit as she clearly has that stated on her website. However, the tone and disrespect shown to a paying client is unacceptable; on a basic human level. I don't usually write reviews. However, I will find every platform I can to share my experience.
