Not that it really looks like a castle, more like a square shaped farm - but a very large one then. On your left, you can glimpse the 'new' castle, dating to the 1st quarter of the 18th century and built in the style of Versailles with large symmetric gardens behind it. Both old and new castle house museums. And the old one also houses in a lost corner - or so it seems - this typical pub. A nice beergarden in good weather - a bit too busy on weekends with the usual fare, but of good quality.

The restaurant's main room is very clean, open and appealing, but since it was a beautiful evening we wanted to sit on the patio. The patio is essentially right on the street, but the have a nice barrier of small evergreen shrubs, etc. to make it not as noticeable. The service was very good and attentive, and as we had no idea what to order they did a great job of making suggestions of popular items that they thought we would enjoy. The food came fairly quickly, and it was beautifully presented with flowers on each plate, attractive arrangements, etc. You almost didn't want to eat it and disturb how pretty it was! The food came out nice and hot (steaming in some cases) and was unbelievably delicious!! We scarfed up everything put in front of us, and were satisfied with every bite. You can tell it is a local favorite as we were there mid-week and all the seats were quickly filled. We were so full from dinner that we decided not to indulge in dessert, but when they brought us the check it was presented with a beautifully sliced orange. We were grateful they didn't turn us away as we didn't have a reservation. They really were too busy to accept our business, but they seated us anyway. Our server was one of only two guys waiting tables for the entire restaurant. It took quite awhile for him to notice us, but once he did, he hustled! Everything we needed, he came through on delivering quickly. I honestly don't know how he did it, the poor guy was overworked! Our food was excellent and came out fairly quickly. The restaurant has an inviting, rustic, charm and diners seemed to stay long and linger for hours. This was one of the better restaurants we enjoyed during our two weeks in Munich and South Tyrol.
