After he left I was digging some roots out and snapped an unmarked cable so I had the buried cable people come out and remark the buried cables. They said the portion of the stump that had cables under could be ground down another 4 to 6 inches. Called Haag and they came back out for a very minimal charge and ground the stump down even more and were able to grind more roots. Best price and quality work. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Our 3' river birches planted in 2017 are now 30' just 7 years later. The past 2 years the japanese beetles haven't liked to eat our birch trees nearly as much so we had full shade in our yard. They even helped us figure out what was killing our magnolia tree (it was planted too low in the ground...by us). So we dug it up and replanted it. It's thriving now. Avista Utilities hires this out of town company to prune the trees back from the power lines in our area. They butcher most of the trees they get their hands on. Avista told me that they are only concerned about the lines, not aesthetics so obviously they don't care about who they hire to do their dirty work. I knew this when Avista said they needed to trim our tree away from the power lines. So, I called and they assured me that I could be there when they "trimmed" it. Well, guess what? They didn't call me or anything. They simply showed up while we were at work and completely destroyed our maple tree (our only tree). BUTHCERS! I have 2 witnesses. One of the neighbors and a construction company watched it done and both said, it was a "hack job", done in minutes and that they never stopped to look at it and figure out how to prune it carefully. They watched them do the deed. These people are NOT arborists! They are tree butchers! I walked around the entire neighborhood and saw at least 10 trees that were in the power lines a lot more than ours. The Avista rep saw the pictures and said it was over-pruned. But they are covered in contracts between them so that no one can hold these assholes (both Avista and Wright Tree Service accountable! I am devastated and feel violated. I love this tree. It's a beautiful maple. It's about 100 years old. It feels like death in my front yard. I was told that Avista HATES maple trees the most! So, what they do is over the course of the years they "trim" those maples in a way that makes them unstable. So, finally their final trim makes the tree a hazard. Then they come in and say, "oh, we will help you and take the tree out and plant a tree that we like in it's place." Oh, go to hell, I say! Our neighborhood and city is getting uglier because this Wright Tree company is here. Trees are extremely important! They do so much for us. They bring beauty to our world. They bring oxygen to our space. They are places for birds and animals to nest. They bring color in the fall and beauty in the Spring. I'm just mortified at the lack of care and the indifference that this community and this company seems to have about protecting the trees and making this town into something that people want to live in and visit instead of something that the locals want to run away from. My family and I are heartbroken and feel violated. I wish all the people in Kellogg, Idaho would form a posse and run these guys out of town! I'm looking for a lawyer. We had to call manager JJ "Jason" twice on the phone number listed on their web-site and followed up twice by e-mail, too. However, instead of responding as promised we did not hear back from JJ. First we thought that this was very much not what we had expected from their advertising ("our work is so glowingly recognized"). But then we noticed that JJ may simply have been overworked and burnt out and too polite to say "Sorry, we don't need any new customers anymore!". However, we called another tree service with a very pleasant lady at the desk who - after having jotted down some quick notes on our needs and given us some short explanations of their service - e-mailed an estimate within minutes. Of course we'll have our trees inspected and trimmed by that company and not by Mr. JJ. In summary it seems they are not accepting new clients for spring of 2021 at this time and may simply need some R&R from cutting trees and communicating with those pesky clients.
