Once you finally do talk to someone, they say that the boat is functional and we can take it when we want and bring it back when we are done to get it back into the shop for repairs (which will never happen, hence the 6 months they have had my boat. In the case of Singleton Marine, and in particular Dave Palmero I can't say enough good things. My wife and I wanted to purchase an Express Cruiser and came to Dave for help. He listened attentively to our desires, our budget, and our future plans and showed us several boats. He would always state the things he thought would work, in our case, and things that might prove detrimental. He was patient and never pressured us one way or the other. When Dave found a boat he though fit our needs he called us immediately. The boat he chose was perfect! The boat was actually much cheaper than one we thought we should buy. What was even more impressive than his boat selection, was the service he provided after the sale. We ordered a survey and Dave asked the surveyor for the list of "fix" items before he had even produced the report. Dave had those items addressed and in the works for fixing before we called. Bear in mind the list was small and mostly inconsequential, but he addressed them nonetheless. Our surveyor was incredibly impressed with the condition of the boat, it was 9 years old, had few hours on it, kept in fresh water under cover and meticulously maintained. When we closed Dave made arrangements for a slip so we could move right in, the slip was perfect. Since the sale we have texted, called, or emailed Dave with questions, oftentimes way to many, he is quick to reply and never too busy, his replies always cheerful. When he walks through the dock his former customers wave and strike up a conversation, he is never too busy to stop and talk with them. I would be remiss in my review if I didn't mention the on-staff boat captain Singleton uses when delivering the boat, Captain Jeff. Captain Jeff is patient, knowledgeable, and extremely good at what he does. This my first purchase of a multi-engine boat that wasn't a bass boat, and to say there are differences would be an understatement. Captain Jeff showed us all the systems, explained how they worked, and showed us how to operate the boat. His service was invaluable. In a few years we plan on upgrading to a bigger boat and I guarantee you it will be Dave and Singleton Marine we go to for that purchase.

Secondly, I keep boats for a long time (last Nautique for 20 years), thus you need a partner to help service through the years. Over the years, they have assisted me with warranty issues on both my Boston Whaler 130SS and my Crest tritoon. When the boat cover on the Crest deteriorated after four years, they proactively worked with the manufacturer and arranged for a replacement cover to be fitted. I routinely bring my 13-foot Boston Whaler in for service, and I am treated with the same level of care and respect as if I had just purchased a 45-foot Sea Ray. MarineMax has also serviced boats I did not purchase from them, including my Ranger Tug and now my Cutwater. They never attempt to sell unnecessary repairs or services. Their mechanics are highly knowledgeable, take the time to answer questions, and provide practical advice on maintaining both the boats and engines. I trust them completely with my boats and would not take them anywhere else.

I had to leave to head back to my home in Honolulu, and my dad followed up with the shop. I don't know what they replaced or did to the boat, all I know is that after $14,000 the boat will still randomly beep and go back to idle speed every now and then. They must have told my 75 year old dad all kinds of BS about things that "needed to be replaced" but were really fine. They pulled apart the motor to perform these expensive and unnecessary repairs. He won't give me details about it, I think he's too embarrassed and ashamed. If I can save anyone a few thousand dollars from this review, some good can come out of this situation.

The actual buying process was smooth, and the salesperson (Jane) was the highlight of the experience. She made the purchase feel straightforward and positive but that soon changed once I made the purchase. Unfortunately, the customer service ended the moment I drove off the lot. Not long after purchasing the vehicle, I noticed a slow tire leak. I had it inspected by a certified professional, who confirmed the issue was caused by a cracked rim -- something easily missed if the rims aren't thoroughly checked during inspection. When I contacted the dealership, they immediately assumed I caused the damage, even though I never hit anything, never drove on a flat, and have zero reason to believe this happened after leaving the dealership. Their attitude made it clear: once the sale is done, they take no responsibility. For a dealership that I just bought a $35K+ vehicle from, the lack of accountability and support is unacceptable. I expected better treatment and basic post-purchase care. I would not recommend this dealership. They are helpful until you sign the papers -- after that, you're on your own. STAY AWAY.
