In my experience, this realtor was dishonest, unprofessional, and lacked the basic respect and communication skills needed in such a sensitive situation. I'm pretty sure we didn't get any special treatment in this process - that she treats all of her buyers and sellers this way. She was always available to us when we had questions (and we tried not to monopolize or abuse her time). We were very particular about what we wanted in our house, and she did a tremendous job of showing us only places that met our criteria. She didn't try to push us to consider homes that weren't what we wanted. It's our intention to make the house we purchased our long-term residence, so hopefully we will not need her assistance in the future. They wasted our time and expected us to bear the burden of their home not appraising for what they wanted against what they owe. They made a bad financial situation and are looking for someone else to pay for it. They promised prepossession to get our earnest money made hard and reneged. We also gave them back most of their promised concessions for closing costs in lieu of us having to pay an expensive hotel. Again, they had zero intentions of keeping their end of the bargain. They just wanted the earnest money hard and would say anything to get it.
