I…read morecannot comment much on how the beach is in warmer weather, nor can I share my opinion on how beautiful the landscape must be when the skies are clear but even so, in spite of the imperfect conditions in which I visited La Baule, I could tell that the beach is spectacular for its sandy and expansive beaches. AT told me that the traffic in the summer to visit La Baule can be insufferable because of the city's popularity. If you come during that time, just set your expectations so that you don't get frustrated. If you are coming from a place with wider streets and lots of lanes, be prepared for a single lane in each direction at many (if not all) parts of the city. Adjacent to Plage de la Baule, you will find a plethora of shops and restaurants, very much like any other city centers you may visit in France. I love how lively French villages, towns, and cities are because of the high foot traffic and the apparent love of being active and outdoors (even in rainy, cold weather) of the people. Because of the proximity to the beach, property is very pricy around here. You will find beautiful mansions, especially along the ocean, but this also means that some of the things you may buy here are more expensive than a less touristy town.

See surfers taking their first lessons in the shallow waters. Don't miss the navy execute water test missions further out. Dang it where are my binoculars?! This beach is perfect for the kids! Before the tide comes in there are shallow pools which the young ones can safely play in. A little secret: the water in these pocket pools of water tend to be a few degrees warmer. I'm assuming it has to do with the current. I'll let you marine biologist address that one. For the big kids head further out and wait for the waves. You could almost time the cycles. Plenty of sandbar to nap, pic-nic, build castles or people watch.

I hope they will adjust this in the future to touch the holy grail! In addition, before I left I ordered some ribs because I was starving as the rest wasn't pleasant, not bad but they they don't know how to make a bbq salsa at all, it tasted like ketchup with no sweetness.. Place like this with that kind of very good wine lists should take example to the verre volé in Paris, good products and simple recipes, not pretentious, it always wins.... Don't drop too much critics like this but it's expensive, hard to have a table so people should know where they are heading to... In addition to this post, I was sick and I throw up later on the beach all my lunch.. a very bad moment!
