I saw a lady called Dr Bailey, who was so caring and reassuring, I went every week for 7 months! Had a little bit of work done each time and eventually got over my phobia. Then Dr Bailey left! I was devastated! A new lady dentist called DR BHATIA joined the practice, and I started seeing her. She is so kind and understanding of dental phobia. I recommend this practice HIGHLY to anyone with a fear of dentists, and Dr Bhatia in particular.

Like many people I don't like going to the dentist, but when I do go I want to go to a good one…read more My wife, fed up with my excuses as to why I could not get myself to the dentist, booked me an appointment and wrote in my diary! I was seen by Mr Veer and his assistant for a check up last week and can can honestly say they treated very well, dealt with my nervous disposition excellently - even my gagging at the mouth xray!. I am sat here with a numb mouth having just had my first ever filling - which I had been dreading - and again the team there were friendly, and treated me really well in carrying out the flling and making sure I was ok after. The dental assistant even helped crank up the volume on my ipod to hide the noise of the drilling! I would recommend Tutbury Dental practice in Tutbury and particularly Mr Veer without question.

Visits to the Dentist used to, without fail, fill me with dread…read more That dread stopped when I became a patient under Stephen Pownall at Porchester Dental Practice. I am not one for writing reviews but I went online to look up the telephone number on Sunday night in preparation to call on Monday morning due to a wisdom tooth issue. I was due for a checkup next week but they managed to get me in for Tuesday 27th October. Stephen's advice was, as ever, professional and although the pain had subsided (probably due to the 8 paracetamol in 24 hours I had taken) he put forward his case for removing it. If only all medical practitioners were like this! Nervously, I agreed to have it extracted there and then. Like most I would say, there is always that little nagging doubt, but after being called back in following the anaesthetic, I sat down in the chair and it was out within a matter of 20 seconds. Incredibly efficient with zero pain, zero fuss and the utmost professionalism as always. Thank you Stephen! I value your service and professionalism to be in the highest order. Many, many thanks.

But that is to do with capacity and supply and demand and not particularly a fault of the practice themselves. So the practice apart from the above is spot on from what I have seen. My particular dentist has been there all the while I have been and is always polite, friendly and has a great smile - well you would expect that from a dentist I guess. Reminders are issued in a timely manner and dealing with payments etc is always no hassle. Good dentists which should hopefully give you less to worry about when you have to face the dreaded drill.

I was constantly worried of more teeth falling out and me being literally a toothless smile. I went to see Raj Mistry who immediately made meek feel calm - he talked me through everything and gave me confidence to trust him. I had all the teeth removed and a new top and bottom denture made and put in immediately after my teeth were removed. I had IV sedation I felt nothing and remember nothing though I was awake during the whole procedure. My new denture is superb - it looks real and not false - I have my smile and I could not be happier - I wish I had met Raj sooner.
